Amazing read. Brendan can write with the best of them.
What do you mean? That somehow famed golf writer Brendan Quinn wrote a basketball story???
(Excited to read it, always just a little annoyed that Brendan uses his talents to write about a sport I couldn’t care less about.)
Dray makin’ me like him for a second. Scoundrel.
Then I realize he’s either forgotten about Franz or is dissing him, and it’s back to normal.
Butler on Yax
Kerr on Yax
I’m looking forward to the preseason @mgl report!
There are some old faces in new places as well as our 3 rookies.
Hope I didn’t spend 8000 CNY just to see Dusty May coach Jett Howard in Macau for their first preseason game next week!
Still would be cool but not the same without Rez
As far as I can tell, Isaiah Livers isn’t on a training camp roster.

Al Horford and Yaxel Lendeborg on the floor together breaks my brain. Imagine trying to explain that to 15-year-old me when Horford decommitted from Michigan ![]()
“okay, so you know the kid at Davidson? okay, so you know the kid in Saginaw? and then also there’s a one-year-old baby”
The Steph thing is crazy too because I think his first or second game was at Michigan during my freshman year ![]()
Yep, I think Davidson played 2 games @ Crisler in some sort of early season MTE. I sat on the old Bleachers (bleachers!) and talked to Dell Curry. Steph lit it up one of those games.
Interesting lineup with Steph, Pods, Draymond, Yax and Horford.
it was! I picked them in my bracket that year as a result of seeing the end of his game vs eastern!
Sorry about this being an IG link but it’s some Bay Area radio guys talking about how much the Warriors vets and Kerr are heaping praise on Yax:
In tonight’s NBA Preseason tip-off, we had many former Wolverines in action:
TIMMAY led the way with 14 points on a perfect shooting night (4-4 FG, 3-3 3-PT, 3-3 FT), Nimari went 2 for 10 and 1 for 8 from deep in his Raptors debut, Vlad Goldin had 6 points on 3-4 shooting, and Tre Donaldson went for 6 points on 1-5 FG and 4-6 FT.
