Will also only put this here bc Dylan wonāt read it bc he hates the NBA but the on/off numbers for Franz/Paolo with and without each other when theyāve both been on the roster is interesting. Was suggestive prior to this season iirc.

Last year:
Franz and Paolo together - 1.1 ppp for the Magic, 1.072 for the opponent
Franz no Paolo - 1.195 for the Magic, 1.081 for the opponent
Paolo no Franz - 1.156 for hte Magic, 1.2 for the opponent
Kind of surprised how poor Paolo was w/o Franz - I was sort expecting a situation where both were better without the other (though the offense certainly suggests thatās the case).
When Iām looking at it, when Franz played w/o Paolo the guy who was in that slot was most frequently Jonathan Isaac which at least brings the possibility that the gap in defensive quality has more to do with their respective replacements (Paolo essentially did not ever play with Isaac)

It sounds like Paolo is coming back soon, which make it a little more than 2 months (October 30th was his injury). Just a rough estimate given they have identical injuries

Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again, basketball historians will one day study Caleb Houstanās career.
For all of his limitations, I do think he could be the type of guy that plays a long career internationally. I just donāt see him hanging around the NBA for much longer.
My guess is Caleb is not in the NBA next year
