Michigan Players in the NBA

No way on this one. Steph is a HoFer in any system IMO. Generational shooter.

Draymond is a great player but that’s going too far.

Reports/stories are just what one agent tells a reporter in the NBA at this point.

You’re wrong on this one. As a certified lip reader Poole undoubtedly says, “Dray, I respectfully submit that MSU is garbage, with a short stature coach who cannot figure out a lineup.”

Mayhem ensued.

I said he’s a HOFer (I think Lillard is a HOFer), but I don’t think his 3 PAs are as high without Draymond, and is more of a “conventional” HOFer, maybe never an MVP.

Steph is the greatest shooter of all time. He can carry a team without Draymond and Klay to the play offs. To say he’s just a Lillard with better teammates is a disservice to his ability. I do agree he benefitted immensely from the other two but let’s be fair, he’s a step above Lillard.

Draymond has been hitting guys for years. I wonder if his kids will see this instance of him “being a man” like they were supposed to when he got “stood over” in the Boston series. Pattern of behavior his whole career. Been described as an “agitator…” Seems A**hole is more fitting.

Not my joke, but I saw it:

“Draymond finally found a 3 he could hit.”

Draymond is an idiot. I don’t think there’s much confusion on this. Long pattern and history of being an idiot. He’s one step above Kyrie on the idiot spectrum

he’s not an idiot, he’s just an @sshole

Yeah. I’m using idiot and A Hole interchangeably here I guess

-whispers- I bet this factored into a bit. Green has demonstrated the MSU inferiority complex in the past, and I’m sure Poole being a Michigan guy added to it.

What do people make out of nobody coming to defense of Poole? I mean conceivably they weren’t really paying attention. Is this what Draymond is all about and teammates are actually afraid of the guy?? To have two coaches/staffers run in and break things up doesn’t look good on guys who have been there for some time like Klay and Steph.

Jordan Poole should be suspended for defying our King Dray

I don’t make much of it. People don’t always act contemporaneously to extreme events in ways we may think we would, having hours of consideration. Like, I’m pretty sure my reaction at the time would have been “wait, what?”

I think them all coming out to defend him against the nonsense tweet from Haynes is pretty telling. They all know where Haynes got that information…

True of course he does have Pistons beat writer and MSU slappy James Edwards III carrying Draymond’s water today. Saying Poole escalated it by shoving Draymond.

I dunno. There’s probably literally nothing MOST NBA players could say to provoke that reaction, but if anyone could it’s probably Poole. And were I the Warriors I would absolutely be wondering about how coachable he’s going to be once that extension’s in. Not that it justifies Sparty being Sparty, because nothing does, but Poole on a rookie deal was already proving to be not that much more coachable than Poole in college. The guy just does his own thing sometimes. He is not going to be some players’ idea of the ideal teammate. I don’t think he’s going to get to that level of dislike of, say, Reggie Jackson in OKC, but he’s not the easiest guy to have in your lineup.

mivhigan fans really do not like Poole lol

Come on man that video is SO one-sided. You’re trying too hard to not be biased. There is no planet where Green isn’t 100% responsible here.

If that wasn’t clear enough, let me be clear – Green is 100% responsible. Green is a borderline guy and surely none of us would be surprised if/when he’s retired he hauls off on someone in normal life where he no longer has the on-court setting to protect him from the consequences of his actions and he ends up facing criminal charges and/or a civil suit aimed at his money. Absolutely.

But, if it needs pointing out, that doesn’t mean Poole is an angel or anybody’s notion of the ideal teammate. There are clips out there of Klay on the court and visibly frustrated with Poole just like we saw with Z pointing at him in transition to cover his man in an M/MSU game before said man scored a pivotal bucket late in the fourth, IIRC in the second of the three losses to them in '19. Poole is Poole.

That said, also seems very relevant context and SIAP but looks like Poole’s in line get his big extension before Green gets his new deal.

Huh? I’m confused. Teammates being frustrated with someone’s positioning on the court or about a shot they take does not make them uncoachable or a bad teammate. He seems pretty unanimously well liked amongst his teammates. Curry and Kerr both said Poole has been great in training camp. There’s not much in Jordan Poole’s career that would lend him to have a hard to coach tag. Yeah he wanted a bigger role his sophomore year of college, but it’s not like he was actively ignoring orders or not trying
