He also has posted crazy conspiracy theories on Facebook, 5G mind control, Illuminati type stuff.
While his response to Doocy above (on personal choice) seems normal, it is hard to imagine him posting conspiracy theories or other off-the-wall stuff. This can certainly hurt his status with the NBA, and he does not need any of that at this stage. Kind of similar to when a player signs a contract (with no drugs clause) and gets caught in a positive drug test, pi$$ing away all the money he is about to make. Plain dumb.
It makes the comments about the food at U-M seem tame in comparisonā¦unfortunately.
Yeah, for a guy who already seems to be a fringe player, it definitely wonāt help. See Cam Newton. Belichick wonāt say it publicly, but you know it had to be a factor.
He needs to be careful that heās not more trouble than heās worth. His stance is absurd. as of now heāll have to sit out games in Toronto and New York. That could grow. Then what? Apparently he and his FAMILY are not getting vaccinated. That means that his family could expose him to COVID. It would be one thing if his āchoiceā was based on something factual. Itās not.
because heās not employed in NY or SF or Toronto, their laws wonāt apply to him, only members of the home team.
I do think itās worth noting that 95% of the NBA, as of yesterday, is vaccinated, per them. It seems as if every single unvaccinated person has seen fit to broadcast it.
Finally - it really seems that Trey and Kyrie are what happen when you take a curious mind and provide it with essentially no education.
On this topic specifically, itās more like active misinformation, unfortunately. Hopefully more folks continue to get vaccines and protect those who donāt.
Blacks have the lowest vaccination rates and highest hospitalization and death rates from COVID. High profile NBA stars eschewing vaccination works against efforts to change that. Trey may be able to play in NY and SF, although Canada may be a different story, but he will have to follow very stringent protocols, including 14 day quarantine if heās exposed to someone with COVID. In addition there is the risk of spreading COVID to teammates. Again, more trouble for the team than heās worth?
Itās certainly that, but I tend to think that stuff tends to get in due to the absence of, like, knowing things.
Entirely possible heās more trouble (potentially, lots) than heās worth (a third string guard).
I mean, well, Duke and Michigan are elite educational institutionsā¦
i guarantee much higher than mgoblog.
The better question may be did he infect anyone?
Being a great athlete or have outstanding athletic skill or being great in any profession does not guarantee someone having an ounce of common sense.
I know some people who are well educated and still donāt want to get it. Itās the fear of the unknown. Iāve pointed out to them that Iām vaccinated and so are a lot of other people they know, but that fear is still too strong for them. It seems to be a psychological thing more than anything.
They do know that they have been getting vaccinated practically all of their childhood lives from the time of birth.
Their issue isnāt with the principle of vaccination per se, but theyāre fearful that Covid vaccines were rushed into use. They are fixated on the idea that there is some unknown long term issue that will come up, and apparently this outweighs the short term danger of getting Covid in their mind.
Before COVID non of them probably even knew how long it took to get a vaccine ready for use.
I believe there are studies that the highly educated are just as susceptible to misinformation because they can seek out evidence to support their worldview. (Sports fandom provides some good examples )
Does anybody know if the Wagner brothers will be playing tonight?
I see that the only way to watch the game is through fubotv, and I donāt want to start a 7-day trial if they wonāt be part of the rotation
