Former Michigan Players NOT in NBA

Brandon Johns

I don’t know if people here know who Isaac Chotiner is, but it is very amusing to me that, to this day, the only person to sit in an interview with him and not be exposed as a fool or gutter racist is…Jalen Rose

(The latest interview had me once again marveling at this)

A fun oddity about the EuroCup is that, like Champions League in soccer, the knockout rounds are aggregate score across a home-and-home

I noticed that when I went to look for the box scores and saw MAAR’s team lost the last game. the Champions League at least doesn’t do it for the final though!

The American mind cannot comprehend

Good post over at MGoBlog today catching up on some former Michigan players. A majority of the article is about the NBA guys that we already know about from another thread on this site. But I’m linking it here because Alex did a good job tracking down a few former players we haven’t talked about:

  • Chaundee (Japan)
  • Simpson (Romania)
  • Iggy (Lithuania)
  • Walton (Australia)
  • DJ (China)
  • GR3 (Korea)
  • Burke (China)
  • Manny (Lebanon)
  • Rahk (Spain)
  • Matthews (G-League)
  • Irvin (England)
  • Morgan (Korea)
  • Joey Baker (Australia…semi-pro?)
  • Jones (Adriatic League)
  • Smith (Adriatic League)

And in the process of reading it I was inspired to go hunting for a few other names and posted them in the comments:

  • Eli (Germany)
  • Johns (Sweden)…link above
  • Tray Jackson (G-League)
  • Dawkins (Germany)
  • Nkamhuoa (Germany)
  • Kam Chatman seems to have played last year in the Czech Republic…didn’t find him this year.

Ibi Watson - last played last year in Canada

Yeah, I don’t know how they missed Eli. That was a big omission considering his contribution for the program.

TIL I learned these are different:

Europe Cup - the tournament Rahk’s team won - is the 2nd tier compeition to the FIBA Champions League, a continental competition organized by FIBA, that still fails to attract the top teams, who are basically all associate with the Euroleague.

EuroCup - the tournament X’s team got the quarterfinals in. The 2nd tier competition to the Euroleague.

Tray Jackson G-League mixtape dropping soon?

I couldn’t believe Tray Jackson was in the gleague, but looks like he’s already a gleague journeyman. 3 teams this season alone
