ESPN Ranking 100 Best College Basketball Players

ESPN is extending their player rankings they have been doing for NBA to College.

B1G highlights in 100-80

  1. Denzel Valentine, MSU
  2. D’Angelo Russell, OSU
  3. Derrick Walton, UM

Thoughts and speculation on where the rest of the B1G shakes out? I expect Wisconsin’s Kaminsky to be top 10. I would hope LeVert makes top 20. I also would guess that Dawson will be higher than Valentine for MSU, although I think Valentine will have to be MSU’s “go to” guy this year.

Also, in relation to this, Goodman has a nice article on Michigan and Walton. It’s paywalled.

Updated down to 60 now

Notables in the B1G

#74 Rayvonte Rice, Illinois
#61 Aaron White, Iowa

Lots of Gonzaga players in there

Great shot of J-Mo in #69

59 thru 40

Notables in the B1G

#59 Andre Hollins, Minnesota
#41 Dez Wells, Maryland

A few SMU players in there as well.

No B1G players in this section. But quite a few from teams we play:

#39 JayVaughn Pinkston, Villanova (possible opponent)
#36 TJ McConnell, Arizona
#30 Joseph Young, Oregon
#28 Stanley Johnson, Arizona
#24 Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Arizona
#23 Treveon Graham, VCU (possible opponent)

Well, let’s hope Irvin cracks the top 100 by the end of the season.

Arizona is going to be a very tough, early season matchup

They’ve added 19-11, seem to be releasing fewer each day. Maybe only groups of 5 for the top 10?

Notables from the B1G and Michigan opponents

#19 Brandon Ashley, Arizona
#17 Yogi Ferrell, Indiana
#16 Terran Petteway, Nebraska
#15 Brandon Dawson, MSU
#13 Caris LeVert, Michigan

They also did a video recap, Seth Greenberg apparently really likes LeVert, hopefully he can live up to all the expectations in front of him.

Top 10 released, not many surprises to round things out if you have been keeping track of what players have not been mentioned.

B1G and opponent notables

#6 Sam Dekker, Wisconsin
#1 Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin
