He didn’t start it but he was involved in it and has a long history of getting involved in fights. If they’re just giving the suspension based on this incident, he should get a game like everyone else, but it’s easy for me to understand why he’s getting two games.
This board has been all over his advanced rim protection stats being good and many did not understand why you’d move him to the 4 bc of it.
And, like, the tweets happened. I dk. And then he played like that. It’s the shot that wasn’t on anybody’s radar.
Yeah Stewart even in year 2 popped huge in rim protection despite not having massive block numbers
Because Weaver and Monty are basketball terrorist for insisting on playing 2 bigs. Also, Dwayne Casey was partially responsible for it as well.
Some teams have success with that but our tandem wasn’t quite it. Both guys would likely have been PF’s from the 80’s-00’s.
Can’t remember if Stewart was seen as a rim protector out of college though. But Washington ran a zone exclusively I think.
Bagley and Wisemen were terrible.
Weaver extending Bagley was awful and I’ve been gaslit by Pistons fans that Bagley contract was tradeable. Who wants to trade for an undersized big who can’t shoot nor play defense?
Well the Pistons quite literally traded Bagley
Didn’t get much in return though. And it was the Wizards who did the deal so says something about something
Bags and Wise were certainly thrown in in the mix more than they should’ve been but I was talking about Duren and Stew as the starting bigs together. Stew showed that he could hit the 3 at a decent clip but he wasn’t in a role where he could thrive.
Not that this is saying much but we had our best stretch of last year during those 2 weeks with Galinari and Muscala. We won the trade, baby!
Weaver is a terrible GM. The Pistons gave up more to get Bagley than what they got in return from trading him away. L-O-L
Competent spacing at the 4 and Monty be like nah no thanks.
Magic number to avoid play-in game is now 1.
Weaver only had one major screw-up in the draft but his FA moves were not good and most of his trades were meh. And hiring Monty (which may or may not have been his call) was the worst move of all.
Stewart dominated the combine and put up amazing numbers there that suggested he could be a rim protector. Didn’t he play at Washington coached by the former Syracuse assistant coach , thus they played zone all game every game? That would reflect his low block rate in college. Stew is very twitchy
Hiring Monty was Gores call. Weaver wanted Ollie (Arn wanted Lee) and there were at a stalemate so Gores gave Monty the bag after Monty said no to Weaver the first time.
Yeah. Less Gores, other than maybe showing up for more games and drunkenly tossing t-shirts, is a good thing.
To his credit, he pretty much was hands off during Langdon’s tenure.
Rumor was he forced the Blake Griffin trade when SVG was the GM/Coach so
Yeah. I think at least in those days he was attending more Clippers and Lakers games than Pistons games.
Blake did give us one very good year before breaking down. It’s funny that we’ve almost come full-circle by getting Tobias back. I’m okay with not getting Miles Bridges (who I believe was taken with our draft pick) but I wouldn’t have minded seeing Boban return too!
If Weaver was still the GM, he would’ve gone after Miles last off-season and I’m glad he’s fired because F that DV abuser.
