I had to be able to tell the UMHoops crowd!
Hi Coach Beilein, it’s an honor to meet you. Really enjoyed watching your teams throughout the years. I’m curious, which ball hangs lower for you, left or right?
Beilein’s actually six years older than Brey so yeah, that’s not happening.
Beilein probably loves his current job. He can spend all his time on doing drills with young players.
Always like these graphics:
For some reason, I watched the second half of Villanova/St Johns replay this morning
I can happily report to you that Curbelo is still everything you remember for good and bad
He’s just on a team that needs him much more
That sounds like a bad combination
Well yeah they aren’t good
I know Dylan hates every time I compare Curbelo and Frankie because of the differences in their games… But I am struck once again by some of the parallels between the two and their impact on Michigan and Illinois.
Both schools had hoped they signed their future PG who was energetic and exciting. Both players were capable of feisty defense and a highlight pass…but neither figured out how to be efficient or control turnovers. And both wanted or needed the ball in their hands all the time. Both transferred and left their teams lacking guard depth and experience.
At this point both fan bases wish they had more guards with experience…but probably don’t wish for the roller coaster of having them lead their team.
I think Andre is a really interesting case because it’s pretty obvious both on Illinois and especially on St. John’s that he’s capable of things nobody else on the roster is. His ability to break a guy down even without a screen and get to the basket is really remarkable (even if he can’t always finish these). I think his offensive ability and ceiling is leagues beyond Collins (he’s not really scratching his topside and he’s better than Collins who I just don’t think has much to offer offensively).
It’s really just everything else that’s the problem and it’s hard to plan your team around a guy who is “trick or treat” to that degree.
Andre Curbelo was suspended for a game a few weeks ago, then went to the game and sat in the stands instead of on the bench, then went to his head coach’s postgame press conference and snapchatted laughing emojis after a 20-point loss
Au contraire, my friend – it sounds glorious.
I feel like Curbelo has really never been the same since his string of really bad concussions.
it’s so weird that the best and most crucial player on Duke is Ryan Young. maybe Keisei Tominaga will lead Kansas next year
This is what they call spurtability.
Sincerely Clark Kellog
I will see myself out
Flipped on the game and my son says, “so…two players from NORTHWESTERN went to Duke and UNC to be key players??”
Sadly… We would love to have either of them on our team right now and they would probably be making a huge impact for us. It’s certainly says something about Chris Collins but I’m not exactly sure what.
Ryan Young being vital to them and then not being very good seem correlated
Kansas on blowout alert at the Phog.
Just had an 11-0 run tho
Back up to a 17-point lead now. 19 after 2 FTs.
Aaand 7-0 run by KU
