College Basketball 2022-23 Discussion

Yeah. A thriller.

K-State takes down Kansas in an OT game where Jalen Wilson had 38, but he didnā€™t touch the ball after the Jayhawks had a SOB with 11 seconds left. Kansas just didnā€™t seem to have a great play to get him the ball.

Fun concept. Iā€™m surprised that nobody has dropped an F-bomb yet. And Iā€™m loving no commercials.

Gotta love a game winning alley oop

UConn lost to Seton Hall tonight. The slide continues.

undrafted in most mocks, FWIW

Heā€™s a weird player

Not many non-shooting shooting guards out there.

He can attack the rim and is a big tough player, but I think it will take some vision from an NBA team to utilize him.

I know it is resume based but the way the Big Ten is seeded here sort of matches up with reality IMO, especially at the top.

The thing is that most of the teams immediately ahead of Michigan have some serious downward momentum.

I talked earlier about a strong bubble but would like to amend that. Itā€™s strong in the sense that teams like Ohio State, Michigan, and Kentucky that are around the bubble are talented. But aside from the Mountain West there arenā€™t really any multi bid lower leagues. The A-10 had six (!) bids in 2014. Theyā€™ll get one this year. The WCC has no one past Gonzaga and St. Maryā€™s. Maybe C-USA will get two but thatā€™s about it. So thereā€™s a lot of room for power conference teams with average resumes.

And the fact that Michigan plays most of those teams in the next few weeks could lead to Michigan leapfrogging them pretty quickly. Take Maryland for example. If Michigan beats them tonight including running them out of the gym in AA, I donā€™t see how they can be ahead of Michigan in the pecking order. Same for if you sweep PSU and NW.

I think this was rather reassuringā€¦win games against those teams and your giving yourself a fighting chance.

Have I ever said how much I enjoy seeing average P5 teams in the tournament???
