I rejoice everytime I see “Ole Miss (18-11)” on the 9 seed line
To be fair, the mid-majors are kind of dropping the ball. There feels like an unusually low number of fun/good mid majors.
Yeah that’s fair. It’s not like looking through the bubble you see some disrespected but fun Mid Majors
Assuming the portal robbing mid-majors of their talent has something to do with that.
Murray State is el stinko this year under old friend Steve Prohm, though I guess that’s not a surprise since three of their four best players relocated to Baton Rouge.
Also, I just learned that Mark Gottfried, Mick Cronin, and Billy Kennedy all spent time in Murray, KY.
Just curious, do we consider the MWC a mid major? They’re probably better than the P12 and at least as good as the BE?
They usually fall in the MM+ category. Why do you think they are better than the PAC 12? Or especially the Big East?
I guess I’m just thinking # of quality teams, and less about depth, or hte quality of the top. Like, UCLA and Arizona are clearly better than anything they have, but they probably have 5 teams better than the P12’s third best team?
To me, they’re similar to the BE in that they have 5 good teams, and hten are a mess. I guess the BE’s 5 are better.
Watching this UCLA game and it is pretty wild that two starters, two rotation players and a freshman who barely played are still on their team.
Jaquez, Tyger, Singleton (a ridiculous just-a-shooter), Nwuba and Clark.
Michigan has … Hunter (and Jace/TW but only Hunter who really played in those games).
Interesting article in The Athletic detailing the Notre Dame job and candidate speculation. Puts forward Shrewsberry as a legitimate candidate, which I think would be a home run for both sides. Also mentions Porter Moser which could be interesting as well.
Scrolled thru the comments for some reason and Chris Holtmann “pulling a Shaka” was mentioned which could also make sense.
Gonzaga lost last night to end their 75 game home win streak. Wild. Even they are having a weird year.
Do we think Beilein is done coaching in college? Feels like if he wanted to get back in that ND would be interesting. Tough perhaps for recruiting given his age but he was never totally dependent on recruiting anyway.
Micah is a perfect fit there.
Surprised that Porter Moser is a candidate for anywhere
Oh yeah, the guy has spent almost his entire life in the state of Indiana. Seems like PSU is going to be looking for a new coach.
Was Chris Quinn mentioned?
I imagine Shrewsberry will stay at PSU since he has his son as an incoming freshman next season. (#181 - 2023)
I really do think he will be a terrific coach and any school would be lucky to have him.
Uhh well Shrewsberry Jr. could flip his commitment pretty easily
Yeah, not sure that is going to be a dealbreaker. Maybe if he had been there for 2 years or something and was a big part of the team but he’s just a commit.
Is Notre Dame a better job than PSU? Both seem like schools where nobody gives af about basketball…
100% it is a better job than Penn State.
