scanning Iona roster for transfer targets
LOL Rothstein you said âPitinoâ and âprincipleâ in the same sentence
I thought Pitino was staying at Iona as long as they blessed him with the privelege to coach
I swear someone said that about him
All going to SJU I would think. The good ones at least, and there are a couple
If we turn to St. Johns roster, a grad transfer from Joel Soriano is an interesting âDickinson leavingâ pivot. I know were were loosely connected with him the first time he transferred
I will be interested to see if Pitino can get Posh and Curbelo going together.
Would imagine keeping Soriano would be towards the top of his radar, and I donât recall Rick losing many recruiting battles. Dropping bags is just out in the open, but itâs still definitely out there.
That was such a bad pairing. Honestly a poor decision by Curbelo to go there at all, he lost his starting spot. Decent chance Pitino brings his guards over and both might be ahead of Curbelo
Kind of think Clayton could go pretty much anywhere he wants if he enters the portal, but would expect him to follow Pitino at this point.
102-107 from the line!
I know his competition is meh for the most part, but his numbers are pretty insane. 119 ORTG on 25% USG, 21% assist rate, 13.6% TO, nearly 60% TS, great steal numbers, all as a sophomore. He did not look out of place against UConn.
I donât know how they would do this, but GTown would benefit from having a 7,000 seat, ultra modern (ie, spendy for non-student guests) on campus arena for their midweek and non conference games. Then play the big games and the weekend games downtown. I donât know if either side would do this, but the Verizon center is just waaay to big for most games of this or any reasonably foreseeable GTown program.
They do have an on-campus small arena, but havenât really played there since like 1981 - for most of their relevant history, theyâve played in the same arena as the Bullets/Caps
edit: Wikipedia says they played the Covid-season at McDonough (the small on-campus arena)
Have you been to College Park? Lamest âcollege townâ in the B1G, has to be. Georgetown is in the very heart of DC.
And if it comes down to venue, just tell the kids youâre going be a top 10 pick so getting used to this venueâs atmosphere will help you as a Wizard.
OSU recruits great and they have one of the lamest home courts in the nation (so do we)
Gâtown is not in the heart of DC â sort of an enclave, really. I agree that College Park is not a great college town, and shouldnât really be called a college town at all. Is a suburb.
But, I was specific. If you like playing in front of a good crowd, and you want to play in the DMV, you wouldnât pick Gâtown. Youâd pick Maryland. Maybe nothing else about the program is all that cool or desirable, but they have a great crowd.
Kim English is excellent btw. VERY bright future imo
Great vibes and great interview but would like to see a bit more actual results. Either way, feels like a decent gamble for Providence.
Tough to ask for much more he turns 35 in September. Spent 5 years on the bench of power 5 schools Colorado/Tenn. George Mason has really been terrible ever since moving to the A10. Lost 9 players last year and still put together a winning record.
Yeah, I like him. Iâve heard him on a podcast and he seemed extremely smart. Love his outlook, etc.
George Mason just hasnât been anything special in two years in a down A10.
