Dickinson cleans up a lot of rim action- he’s a big shot blocker. He got benched for two awful calls in this game, so our defense falls apart. We have zero talented depth- that’s the recipe for us losing in the tournament as well.
We play better D on every possession just straight up M2M. Lots of going back & forth to Zone so far, guys look confused.
BJJ at the 5.
Also, boy are these rims soft. Everything is going in
How many minutes did Hunter play this half? Like 5? Just hard to say much big picture given that but certainly overall a disappointment.
Getting a lot of bench production so far
Can’t believe that BJJ shot went in.
Did Johns double-dribble?
It worked there, but I just don’t understand the Johns post ups. Use him as a pick and pop five please.
10 minutes ago everyone was saying they were tight
This is just a flat out bad defensive team when Dickinson isn’t on the court
Good on BJJ for getting the and-one. But I’m seriously concerned if our gameplan out of the timeout after a Maryland run was to pass around the perimeter for 20 seconds to try to get him a post touch.
I don’t think that was the game plan
I don’t think you can play Austin Davis right now. Yes he provided rebounding and a couple buckets but on defense Maryland is just exposing everything.
I would consider playing more of Chaundee over Brooks
I would even strongly consider bringing Dickinson back for the final 3-4 minutes because Maryland is getting to the paint too easily.
it looked like it but i think he just fumbled the ball/got caught on his leg on the dribble
big credit to Johns for keeping his eyes up there. most guys wouldn’t stay ready for a pass.
I’m positive almost everything in that timeout was centered around giving up 8 straight baskets not drawing up an offensive play
Maryland did hang 44 on us in the first half of our first meeting this year…this isn’t unprecedented.
Maryland makes 8 straight from the field and then misses an easy one. Go figure.
I think we’ve known that for a while. If Davis has to play 15-20 minutes a game, we are in deep trouble against a 5-out team(really all wings). BJJ didn’t figure out how to play backup five this year, which we hoped for.
