Big Ten Discussion

Run the table at home and split the road games and 15-5 might be enough to win the regular season title.

Still a little early to know for sure who the top teams are. Most teams are still trying to figure things out. Even Michigan has some things to resolve, but their defense might buy them time while they fine tune.

Michigan has one game a week for the rest of 2018. Plenty of time for development for younger guys.

Personally I wish they were playing more. Iā€™m selfish and love watching them play.

Good time for some of starters to get rejuvenated and refreshed for grind of BIG.

Hereā€™s why Michigan Stateā€™s Tom Izzo couldnā€™t land Vernon Carey

What exactly is the author saying? Carey does not like Izzoā€™s system? Carey went with K because he believed Kā€™s lies? Izzo does not get good recruits? Izzo should get better recruits? Izzo is an honest and hard worker? K is a used car salesman?

Gee whiz, If only the world could see that Izzo is a great coach, then he could finally start landing good recruits, and then he will be able to prove to the world that he is actually a good basketball coach.

Or Coach Kā€™s bag man offered more?

Vernon Sr. Signed a $42 million contract his last major one in the NFL. Not saying they didnā€™t take money but there really would be no reason for them to just to get caught and get ruled ineligible.

With Vernon Carey headed to the ACC, how about we focus this topic more on Big Ten basketball again.

Ok.

When coach K retires, MSU basketball will be the Duke of the midwest.

When coach K retires, the Big Ten will be better than the ACC.

Itā€™s a strange article. Starts by saying it has nothing to do with style of play, then admits freedom of play had something to do with it.

Didnā€™t realize that there were still so many real games left

Usually some really good weekend games in Decemberā€¦ I already miss Feast Week though, going through this list thereā€™s not a lot of quality college hoops on weekdays until January.

If weā€™re putting Mizzou-Illinois on there I feel like DePaul-NW on Saturday should be too. DePaulā€™s 5-1 (an empty 5-1) and itā€™s a P6 matchup.

Good call, missed that one going through KenPomā€™s FanMatch.

Reaching for some better games now but Loyola-Chicago plays at UMD this Saturday. Also on the 29th Belmont is at Purdue and Radford at UMD. Those are two solid mid major teams this year.

A couple other good onesā€¦ Here are the conference rankings per KenPom right now.

A lot winnable games for the conference in there, and some huge opportunities for Purdue, Northwestern, Purdue, and Penn State.

This is obviously going to change a ton over the rest of the season but fun to look at Torvikā€™s spreads for Michiganā€™s conference games.

Looking through, and rounding up/down, my biggest surprises at the moment are:
-17 at home against Minnesota (seems like too much)
-7 at Rutgers (seems too low)
-8(!!!) at home and Pick 'em on the road against MSU (surprised at both but not too surprised)
-9 at home against Wisconsin (seems too high given the slow pace both play)
