A couple of those plays were really good. Definitely better than anything Rocket did last year. The scoring I don’t buy at all though
“Tom Izzo has found his point guard!”
Hoggard’s body transformation was definitely impressive though. He went from not knowing how to flex at all in bad lighting to giving us a master class in flexing in just a few short months.
Maybe Hoegaard talked to fellow Pennsylvania native Richard Hamilton.who stated that every time there was a photo having to show off his muscles he would do 50 pushups and just pose.
apparently Nebraska fans losing their minds over Trey and Bryce McGowens twitter feeds being nothing but a stream of retweets of individual highlights of their game last night. Bunch of pretty dunks and what not for the world to see in their loss to Western Illinois.
I admit it’s kinda funny that they spend late night after a horrible home loss tweeting videos of their own highlights from the game. But hey, there were some nice ones…

Sorry. I didn’t.
I’m pretty sure that was stated multiple times last year too…
I just wanted to be the first of many this year.
I’m honestly kind of surprised that Trey McGowens didn’t get hit with a taunting tech after that dunk.
Rutgers almost lit their season on fire in game 1… again (we survived a buzzer beater attempt from Bryant in the 2019-20 opener). Looked awful.
PSU has been in single digits all night with Youngstown State (300s on KP/BT), really ugly stuff.
So I just looked at Rutgers schedule and I had a couple notes.
First, what an awful noncon schedule. Second, first 3 B1G games are @ILL, Purdue, UM. Sheesh
Rutgers had 14 steals and needed overtime to beat Lehigh. Oof.
Geo Baker the shot maker will be locked and loaded this year. Might be best silencer in the league.
So while MSU was losing to Kansas their cast offs thrived at their new schools. Loyer went for 27 for Davidson as mentioned earlier and Kithier went for 16&5 for Valpo. Will be interesting to see Rocket this year and how he develops.
Great example of why the transfer portal is so valuable. Finding your level is important.
Duke wins despite shooting 1-13 from three: OMG this team is incredible
Rutgers wins despite shooting 1-13 from three: Oof
Double standard much???
In all seriousness, Pikiell teams have had a bad habit of playing down to even really bad competition a handful of times a season. I’m hoping it’s just that but with a one game sample you never know, they might just not be very good.
Duke scored 1.08 PPP against Kentucky, Rutgers scored .9 PPP against Lehigh. Problem for Rutgers isn’t 1-of-13 from three its 26-of-59 from two.
Oh yeah that was a total joke. There are a lot of issues. Baker and Mulcahy were particularly bad. The defense was really bad with Cliff Omoruyi off the floor. Lehigh was hitting some tough shots early but they also got a ton of uncontested looks.
