wow I’ll be honest I hadn’t really dug into this Crouch story, there are some fkng whoppers in here

Mady is everything I hope for…I think we’ll get back to leading the country in rebounding…Jaxon, he’s a Goran Suton-type kid, only better…So do I think these two guys can (handle the center spot)? Yeah.

We’ve got two (veteran) point guards, one that can play the 2 (shooting guard). We’ve got Jaden Akins, who, if you ask my staff, (and) DJ (Stephens), they think he’s going to be better than Max (Christie). That’s not sour grapes.

I think Malik is going to step up, I really do. And I think Hauser, those two, they’ve been begging me to play together. I think you’ll see Malik at the 3 (on the wing) a lot more

Carson Cooper… He reminds us of an even bigger (Matt) Costello.

What is the point in saying aside from that? Hunter and the 4 Teletubbies could take MSU to the cleaners so the rest of the team is irrelevant.

He literally says “Mady Sissoko has been so good at rebounding in practice the last two years! We’re gonna get back to leading the country in rebounding!”

:roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes: man is delusional

I’m just catching up to what’s happening to MSU. If any of it are true, Izzo is seemingly unwilling to adapt to the ever changing college basketball landscape and the longer he keeps coaching with this attitude, the worse it will be for MSU.

This is fking hilarious. His staff thinks Akins is better than Christie? And that’s not sour grapes? The guy that led your team in minutes as a freshman?

Mady Sissoko is going to help them lead the country in rebounds?

Kohler = Goran Suton but better. IDK what that even means. Suton was a pretty basic MSU big right?
Cooper = Costello but bigger

maybe I am nuts but the Cooper = Costello one actually feels the most outrageous to me. Costello was a top-75 consensus four-star. Michigan Mr. Basketball, Parade All-American. One of the best HS players in Saginaw/Bay City history. Then 2x all-B1G. Started 60 games at MSU, played 140. B1G titles, Final Four, banners…

You’re so thirsty for centers that you take some JV chungus at IMG because he’s from Jackson and suddenly he’s bigger and better than Matt Costello? It’s insulting.

Imagine recruiting someone that actually paid tuition to IMG

Hes waaaaaaashed you guys. Like I know it’s always dangerous to dance on Izzo’s grave, but when has he ever finished 7th in the Big Ten back to back seasons? He’s using like 60% of the available scholarships to his program to “keep guys happy” when the guys are AJ Hoggard and Tyson Walker.

Next year’s roster legit has a list of like 10
things that could happen and derail the season.

  1. Anyone gets hurt
  2. Kohler isn’t playable
  3. Sissoko isn’t worthy of even backup minutes
  4. Hall has “issues”
  5. Akins is Rocket Watts 2.0
  6. Hoggard in a bigger role is bad
  7. Walker continues refusing to shoot
  8. Hall is benched for Hauser again
  9. Hoggard is benched for walker again
  10. more injuries!

I’ll think he’s done when we sweep him again.

First glance of his resume, 2006, 2007 seasons.

I’m definitely wary of dancing on this dude’s grave. Izzo’s success springs up when you least expect it.

Freshmen Lucas, Allen, Summers ain’t walking through that door.

I wouldn’t be bashing them so publicly if I believed in their players. Hoggard is probably the guy I’m highest on (besides Akins and maybe Kohler) and as @umhoops says…yuck.

In CBB the whole game is pulling talent. If you can’t do that better than everybody else, pace and space or whatever won’t save you. Ask Fred Hoiberg. I’m not gonna say Izzo is donezo until it’s beyond obvious bc paranoia but if you’re actively leaving a ton of scholarships open for no good reason that’s a huge red flag.

I will say, I think the B1G broadly is in trouble in this universe. Indiana and Illinois seem like the only schools that are definitely playing the game as well as they can. Maybe Maryland too? So maybe the whole league dips and Izzo stays reasonably close? I dk who knows.

That is a good point. If Izzo is washed then it has to manifest in someone passing him. You can’t be washed if you keep contending in a weakened B1G.

Indiana is interesting.

But if they go 7th again this year heading into another offseason…and he still won’t play the portal….and there’s still no pros on the roster.,…

The Big Ten will rise again. Will Izzo?

I guess I haven’t checked in on @ReegsShannon’s spreadsheet in a minute but it didn’t look like the rest of the B1G was really trying. And Purdue clearly did and instead lost their perfect fit to a Miami billionaire. Seems bad.

It’s a tantalizing scenario because I think Juwan is personally capable of leading a modern, NIL-rich program. He just needs the administrative power
