Big Ten Basketball 2020-21 Discussion (Part 2)

And it would take them a while to build that wall. Not worried, TBH. Given how Chris Holtmann has recruited and retained thus far, it would be actually a nice problem to have from his perspective…

Tbf, yes, College Park is within the DMV and close to DC and urban centers but Maryland is mostly just a dense suburb. It’s like if Ann Arbor were a state, but not as nice.

Big Ten coach looking to leave current job to get back to midwest is just such an odd thing to read

Turg is probably real bummed that Wichita took the interim tag off of Isaac Brown.

Just listened to the pod. My Illinois hypothesis: they’re bullies. That’s it. Loyola Chicago punched the bully in the mouth and they folded. I will give them credit for going toe to toe with Baylor until they were just edged out, but there’s a reason they weren’t Big Ten regular season champs. I don’t think they could have taken the haymaker we took from LSU and played through it.

Illinois straight up bullied us and it happened to be a night where we folded. You will never convince me that our mentality was good going into that game. We had kind of wrapped up the Big Ten title with the two teams’ last few results. Ayo was out. We thought it was going to be a coronation on our home court, they came ready to murder us.

I suppose he’s going to get paid somewhere on the globe…but I’d be surprised if it was G-League. Am I off on this?

Plus there’s more ball movement on offense without Ayo.

Illinois treated the game like a B1G championship game while Michigan treated the game like a regular season game. You can see the difference in effort level and body language. Regardless, it just wasn’t Michigan’s night. They got outplayed period

I’m quite over that IL loss. Loyola applied the healing balm.

We got stuffed in the proverbial trash can, no doubt.

I kind of wonder if he could make a career out of being on the extended bench in the NBA.

Potter could play in the gleague if Teske can. And I bet he could make a ton in Europe for a long time.

Also Potter moving on feels like a sign that most guys will move on

@BigBoutros, looks like IU listened to your Calbert Cheaney suggestion!

Go… Mike Woodson!

I haven’t been clear as to whether Coach B has expressed clear interest to the school?

If Indiana actually had a chance to hire John Beilein and chose not to, I think it’s an inexplicable, epic mistake.

What a garbage coaching search

It’s basically as bad as Michigan’s if Howard doesn’t save us, which is not a good look considering Michigan’s was an emergency search after most of the carousel was done and the prime candidates were scooped up.

We were kinda screwed based on timing. All the hot candidates were already hired. And Juwan was more of a legit college coach candidate than Woodson or the other IU alums IMO.

Indiana has the pick of the litter and they are being insane.

Yeah, exactly. They have no extenuating circumstances that would lead to this list. It’s just… their actual realistic top targets. Because nobody in their right mind thought Stevens was realistic. And it’s just baffling that a fringe blue blood’s coaching search looks like that.
