Anyone Know What's Up with Bielfeldt and Dakich?

Hail - in all seriousness, check your personal email. I've already acknowledged you have the superior argument. Lets just drop it buddy, we're all on the same team here

You get to win some, I like to win some. And thanks for the heads up on that personal email thing.

Hey man, contrary to what you may think, I do value your opinions, even if I don’t agree. Our friendly bets should be fun and I hope I lose if that means the team is doing well. If the worst critique of JB is not whether he’s good, but the extent, he’s doing a fine job

On the list, I would rank Beilein above the following: Bo Ryan (very close), Sean Miller (has never made a Final Four thus far), Shaka Smart, Larry Brown (great coach in the pros 10 years ago, great college coach once - let’s see what he can actually do at SMU first), Fisher (his last three seasons at Michigan were atrocious, and he had the best talent money could buy), and Gregg Marshall (great up and comer, probably could be great in a real conference, but I’d need to see it first).

The rest of the guys on the list are literally all Hall of Famers, so if JB is in that mix, great. That’s hardly bad.

No offense Oracle, but you are looking VERY ignorant right now...

I felt the need to not say anything

Thank you Oracle for stating the obvious without answering my question, and doing it quite rudely. It was a 30 point blowout against a division 2 team and neither played. Can you point to one sentence in my post that would give you the idea that I thought that either one of them were rotation players? I understand that neither player is good, but when they don't play in blowouts, or in Dakich's case, in an exhibition, something else is up. All I wanted to know is if there was an injury or something, as it is VERY rare to not play all your players in a 40 and then 25 point blowout, but thanks for being a dick about it anyways Oracle.

You were saying mouth(s)??? Exhibit A why Max sucks against any decent and above teams. In the 2nd half, he was the key for every Villanova run and non existent(on the bench) for every Michigan run. I thought that was pretty obvious before the season started. Evidently not. He should be nowhere near the floor versus any non MAC, MEAC, NAIA, etc. school. He’s terrible. So, that’s why I asked if the original question was serious. Sorry if you can’t handle an honest question.

Max certainly had a sub-par performance last night, no doubting that. When Doyle went to the bench with foul trouble late in the second half, Max gave up 2-3 possessions where he was either scored on or failed to obtain the rebound, or both. Those 3-4 minutes pretty much gave Nova the game. It wasn’t that Max played bad D on any of those possessions, in fact he played pretty solid position defense, he simply lacks the size and athleticism to deal with Pinkston/Ochenu. Max will serve us fine against most teams for 10 minutes a game until Doyle/Donnal are fully up to speed. But realistically, it’s not like Donnal/Doyle did much better in stopping Ochenu, Nova scored at will in the post against all 3. The big difference was on the offensive side.

I thought our defense was perfect during the big run we had in the second half in regards to the post. Everytime an entry passed was made to a Nova big, we doubled them and forced them to pass the ball out. Near the end of the game, we got away from that and starting getting beat 1v1 in the post. I think that might’ve costed us the game.

If Max was 6-8, 6-9 he could be pretty damn effective. But…

Looks like Beilein’s trying to redshirt Dakich.

“We’re going to try to redshirt Andrew Dakich so that he’d have a fifth year somewhere else,” Beilein said. “We may have burned that today if it was a close game, and we’ve got, obviously, to work Muhammad into being more of a primary ball handler.”

Bielfeldt is not playing confident again with his minutes. I think he can contribute in small amounts, but he is a bit out of sorts the last few games.

They both aren't rotation players in the least. Is this a serious question?

You were saying…? Not only is Bielfeldt playing…

But He’s doing a damn good job in there. I normally wouldn’t bring this up after a couple of months, but you were just so vocal and your hatred of him was so unwarranted that I couldn’t resist. But what can I say? “He’s terrible”, right?
