I think it says more about LAC than CP3 regarding their team culture.

Sad but true: the Clippers have a worse net rating than the Brooklyn Nets this season. They are 1-4 since releasing Chris Paul and 1-9 in their last 10 games. Easy enough for me to say from the outside, but I don’t think fringe rotation player Chris Paul was the problem :joy:

I would laugh at the Clippers, but it annoys me too much that OKC is going to get a super high lottery pick because of their ineptitude.

Reading the article on ESPN Frank and Lue are terrible. Lopez and Leonard are good dudes but super quiet and reserved.

I don’t get the impression the Lopez’s are reserved, or that Kawhi is a good dude (he is quiet though)

Kawhi gets the rep for being a good dude because he doesn’t say much to let everyone know that he is super selfish and disinterested in anything that doesn’t benefit him. But, he loves planting trees so he has that going for him.

CP3 is a good example that it’s ok to be a royal pain and know it all as long as you are the top of your field and your talent is indispensable. Once that stops, the fact that no one likes being around you means there will a long list of people willing to kick you on the way down. It doesn’t matter if you are always right when you annoy people so much doing it that they would rather punch you in the face rather then listen to you.

Yeah, when I read the downfall of CP3 in LA, I sort of get the late-career-Russell Wilson vibe where he went to Denver, got his own office next to the coach or whatever, walked into the locker-room and told his teammates he has an “open door policy” and then never went to his locker the rest of the year

ie, he’s sort of holding himself out as distinct and above

I don’t think that’s always bad - he obviously deserves a ton of credit late-career for get Phoenix from playing stupid-ball to playing well and could clearly get buy-ins from young guys, and generally everyone in San Antonio (also very young) was fine with him.

The Clippers are the oldest team in the league with more than a few guys who have shown questionable commitment to winning. I’m not sure his whole schtick was ever going to play there.

Like old-a$$ James Harden isn’t going to start hanging out and doing trust fall exercises.

Kawhi seems pretty rotten even if the Aspiration thing is total BS. everything flows under the table through his dirty azz uncle

he plays this mute character but the actual conduct seems pretty bad

Just speaking of the meeting and how they did appreciate Paul

Fred Van Vleet talked about Kawhi. He said Kawhi was completely transparent he was all about going back home. He had told his teammates that for that year in Toronto he was all in on winning a title. Regardless of what the media said of some Toronto/LA decision it was never going to be Toronto. If you take him at his word and his teammate said this at least he was honest with his teammates.

Regarding his Suns tenure:

I do think he helped but they did go 8-0 in the bubble prior to his arrival. I think the young players were already starting to turn things around. He may have helped more because he’s a really good player than helping as a leader.

Atlanta’s Trae Young – out since Oct. 29 with a sprained MCL – will make his return tonight against the Charlotte Hornets, sources tell ESPN. The Hawks went 13-9 without Young and now get their starting point guard back. Atlanta's Trae Young – out since Oct. 29 with a sprained MCL –... - ESPN http://espn.com/app

Really terrible ref show moment about halfway through the 2nd quarter. Ausar gets his first NBA ejection. The Pistons haven’t recovered so far. Dallas is on a 20-4 run.

The refs aren’t why the Pistons lost tonight, but man, that crew was in way over their heads. When the going got really tough late in 4Q and in OT, that crew absolutely folded. Very frustrating to watch guys at the game’s highest level butcher crunch time like that.

I didn’t even watch the game and I am mad about the refs

JB let em have it after the game.

The refs didn’t help, but the Pistons clawed their way back to force a OT. The bench was a nice sparkplug for a comeback that didn’t materialize. Such a deep team!

Watched last night’s game. Wondering how much these very frank and, from my perspective, honest statements will cost :money_bag: J.B. ?
