Is there a link I’m missing

What do you do with Jalen Duren in this scenario (who is better)

I know - “AD at the 4” - has that ever actually produced good basketball?

I do not think Jalen Duren is better than AD. You play both of them and make it work. The AD at the 4 stuff is likewise overblown.

I think Duren playing 75 games is much better than Davis play 40, even if he’s not as good as Davis when he plays, and I’d much rather have the next 4-5 years of Duren than the next 4-5 years of Davis.

The Pistons can’t space the floor, at all, it is, to the degree they do or will have a fatal flaw, their fatal flaw, and washing Tobias for Davis will only cramp it futher.

I’m not suggesting Duren be traded or that he’s not more durable. On a per minute basis, AD is a better player.

I think they could make it work. Since Tobias has missed almost half of the games this season there have been several times where JB has started Stew with Duren and they’ve done just fine together.

I’m just leery about giving up any young talent for Davis.

But, from recent reports it sounds like the Pistons haven’t been talking to Dallas so it really doesn’t matter.

and you’re taking on his massive contract plus with his injury history and diminishing skillset with him on the wrong side of 30, that’s a big no thank you.

It’s akin to the Pistons trading for Blake Griffin. Classic shortsighted move that hurts the franchise long term

This is the key. You have a great young team with so many players still unfinished products. Absolutely no need to mess with that.

yes i already know what you think and i made it clear i had considered these possibilities. don’t need to rehash them.

The rehashing will continue until you change your mind!

The Pistons had a Michigan-like game against the Hawks tonight. It was the first time all season where everyone was healthy and available to play. NAW kept it close in the first quarter with some great shooting but the Pistons bench came in and started getting some separation.

It was still a 9-point game at the half but then it turned into a blowout. Their biggest lead was 35 and they finished with a 142-115 win.

Atlanta was still without Trae (I’m not sure that’s a negative) and also without Porzingis.

20-5 for the boys, though!

Nice to have some form of revenge against Boston for the NBA cup group loss. Their next 6 games will be considerably easier since they’ll face Dallas, Charlotte, Portland, Kangz, Utah, and LAC. Good opportunity to put distance in the Eastern Conference standings.

Here’s a stat that I find interesting:

There are currently 9 teams in the East with winning records and only 7 in the West.

He was part of a huge bench advantage tonight. The Pistons bench outscored the C’s 47-12. LeVert had a really nice 2nd half with 13 points coming after the break, Green had 8 points and 3 steals, and Ivey continues to play his way back into shape. He had a pretty rough start but had a couple of key buckets in the 2nd half and had an (uncredited) block against Brown. I don’t know why it didn’t make the box score as Brown’s jumpshot only went about 3 feet.
