2021 NCAA Tournament Open Thread

Illinois can get away with these starts against Northwestern and Nebraska, but not here. Needs to figure it out soon.

I would prefer they don’t figure it out.

Could there be a better result this weekend then MSU and OSU going down, Michigan winning, then Wiscy advances while Loyola punks Illinois?

Hello, Loyola :eyes:

All B1G crew working the Illinois-Loyola game

EDIT: Now I see that bald guy isnt Carstensen…

Loyola is doing a phenomenal job cutting off U of I’s penetration so far - the thing that killed us. Their defense looks legit.

Loyola is legit. Insane to me that they are an 8 seed.

Yup the committee did Loyola and Illinois no favors with the seeding

Wow…that’s something the committee should avoid.

I suspect they group certain teams together to increase the likelihood of specific matchups that are interesting from a narrative perspective. Not that hard. I could be wrong.

It’s almost like you can’t just project a team’s performance from the first round into the second…

Surprised they didn’t get Cockburn for the right hand hitting Krutwig there

The people who have been in the room all deny this. People who’ve participated in a mock selection committee say basically the same thing I did – they just don’t have time to worry about that kind of thing.

The NCAA tournament doesn’t need narratives. It does just fine on its own.

I wouldn’t front Cockburn in the post. Let him try to score on a post-up. Just don’t let him get behind you.

I agree, but… it’s working?

Does anyone else play like this Loyola team?

Yeah, the Nuggets.

What you believe might be true. I think it is ok if my beliefs do not adjust based upon what the people in the room deny.

This seems like a more complete Loyola team than 2018.
