2019 Transfer Market

I (obviously) have no inside knowledge, but I really, really, feel like Pierce is ending up at ND. So many signs are there for him to sign on with ND.

What signs

Chicago kid, immediate interest shown from him in ND, Brey had gone to see him before anyone else I believe, ND is now the first confirmed visit for him. Generally haven’t seen a ton out of his recruitment that isn’t ND centric.

This wouldn’t matter for a grad transfer but is there any concern of Brey being on the hot seat if ND has another crap season? My guess is no, because ND is a football school.

Okay, disregard this post.

IMO, I think he’s got at least two more seasons. Extension through 2024-25 and back-to-back Elite Eights not too long ago. If they have another season like this next season, maybe those talks arise, but right now he’s in the clear.

anyone got insight on the transfer from william and mary. i was on 247 website and they said the kid was coming in for a visit.

@DraeDay: See a couple of posts up. As of right now, Beilein is visiting him on Thursday (before he visits Notre Dame). Not sure that he has set a visit yet, you might have been tricked by the headline a bit there.

We have film of him, shot chart, advanced stats, scouting thoughts on him in this post:

my bad, missed that one. been reading so many post lol

This morning on the radio Sam Webb hinted at Williams being one that could heat up and he said that Williams is seeking immediate eligibility.

Now this one could be real interesting…

Very much so. 115 ORtg on 21.1% of possessions with a shooting slash of 47/40/87 and a TO rate of only 13.7 – dude can get buckets it would appear!

Also an interesting career trajectory. Barely played for two years, was injured early in his third year (while playing even less minutes than before), was granted a redshirt and proceeded to blow up in his RS JR season, playing 92.5% of available minutes for Oakland.

Catch and shoot guy more than a secondary creator, but he can certainly shoot.

A little undersized for the 2 at 6-3 but with 40% shooting from three on 263 attempts, he definitely would fill the missing shooter role.

IDK if there are any hard feelings from Michigan asking jarron to prep for a year because of grades. However, the Cumberland family used to have some huge Michigan fans in it.

Cumberland is an Ohio kid, cousin plays at Cincinnati, and with a new coach there I’d bet he’ll get a look in. That’s my guess as to where he ends up.

Williams from Duquesne confirmed on his Twitter that he’s taking an official visit to Missouri. Corey Evans added that the Oregon staff is taking an in-home for him as well.

I believe he was originally a state of Michigan kid (New Haven?) so that could be a knock in our favor

Re Williams Jr…Looks like a great player… do we want a sit out one year, take two type of guy?

always good to have that leadership down the road and maybe we strike out on 2019 kids so we have the room, but if we can get wagner + a piece, does your bias skew to taking someone that can come in next year, even a bit less talented?

What’s the criteria for being able to be immediately eligible these days? I understand the Shea Patterson thing, but now I see guys applying for immediate eligibility all over the place.
