From TSU? Can’t see it. Don’t have the need for a 5’7" scoring guard that’s butted heads with his head coach previously. Super talented though, thought he was gonna follow Davis to Detroit.
Also RE: Tucker, not sure when Webb/24/7 said that but he was definitely contacted by Michigan early-ish on. The last update I had was that he wasn’t considering Michigan (Goodman article on transfers) but that could’ve changed.
Things have been sorta quiet on the transfer front lately.
Tucker looks like a great fit. Given what we’ve got in upperclassmen next year, it would be great to find a serious outside threat from 3 for SG in the transfer market. Ideal not to have to rely on the youngsters.
@umhoops we’ve seen a decent bit more buzz around Michigan looking at class of 19 kids as opposed to grad transfers thus far, any particular reason you think that may be the case?
Chicago kid, immediate interest shown from him in ND, Brey had gone to see him before anyone else I believe, ND is now the first confirmed visit for him. Generally haven’t seen a ton out of his recruitment that isn’t ND centric.
This wouldn’t matter for a grad transfer but is there any concern of Brey being on the hot seat if ND has another crap season? My guess is no, because ND is a football school.
IMO, I think he’s got at least two more seasons. Extension through 2024-25 and back-to-back Elite Eights not too long ago. If they have another season like this next season, maybe those talks arise, but right now he’s in the clear.
@DraeDay: See a couple of posts up. As of right now, Beilein is visiting him on Thursday (before he visits Notre Dame). Not sure that he has set a visit yet, you might have been tricked by the headline a bit there.
We have film of him, shot chart, advanced stats, scouting thoughts on him in this post:
Very much so. 115 ORtg on 21.1% of possessions with a shooting slash of 47/40/87 and a TO rate of only 13.7 – dude can get buckets it would appear!
Also an interesting career trajectory. Barely played for two years, was injured early in his third year (while playing even less minutes than before), was granted a redshirt and proceeded to blow up in his RS JR season, playing 92.5% of available minutes for Oakland.
