Video: Juwan Howard talks Michigan State win

Yeah that’s fair. Hard to say without being there but I think there are a number of reasonable ways that TO could have made sense. We can’t be in this place again, etc.

Agreed. Asking a leopard to change its spots and all that.

Maybe it helped things seem “normal,” and there’s merit to asking your team to remember how that moment feels and use it down the stretch. This isn’t a great MSU team, but they could surprise a team or two in the tournament.

The ball was in play when this time was called.

If you read my original comment I conjecture that Howard may have called a TO “before the inbound” and the whistle was late based on his very emotive reaction on the sideline. Obviously wasn’t the case based on that Izzo quote, but idk why you’re trying to get me in a gotcha moment about timeout rules lol.

Just want to make sure that you clearly understand the game and rules. We think you have that understanding now, it isn’t personal merely instructional.

I think the reason coaches call these timeouts in general, is that they know that if they don’t make whatever point they’re trying to make at the moment, then the moment is lost.

By “Monday”, attention is often on something else. I remember thinking that last year in Wisconsin, and then again when it was brought up after the game vs MSU.

Again, sure. Also again, not a normal week or game. The moral of the story is Izzo gonna Izzo. If a meteor were hurtling toward the arena, on track to strike within minutes, he still would have called that TO.
