Who gives a crap at what point in each respective players career, did they play good.
Our fan base had high expectations for Devin based off a 5 game stretch. Our fan base has high expectations for Kam based off of high school hype and one good game his freshman year.
In both scenarios, it was “hope” we had that each would improve and when it was/is apparent neither will, we search for the littlest things to hold on to the hope.
It’s Devin’s O-Line. Look at the ND game. He spent the off season with Whitfield. Etc
With Kam it’s, he grabbed a rebound. His footwork has improved. He hit a buzzer beater.
You can throw Donnal in this “hope” based on nothing significant category.
The only difference I see is Devin was a much better player initially at his sport than Kam Donna or Duncan are.
Hahaha what he said! Donnal for sure fits this theory.
The theory is based on improvement and the excuses fans give for why it didn’t happen. The point is some guys just aren’t going to improve because their talent level.
Alum you deal in adjusted stats that never really happened. I’m sorry something that has never happened can’t be used to prove someone was ever good
The fact is, Michigan fans use anything and everything to make up reasons why a player will improve even though that player has shown nothing in their career that suggests he’s actually improved.
Devin did not improve after his first 5 games (he struggled in half of those) go back and watch that S.C. Game. Devin was brutal. Gallon bailed him out on bad throw after bad throw.
Kam did not improve from his short stint in the starting lineup his freshman year.
The way the come to eachother’s defense anytime the other is looking foolish in a discussion is pretty comical. I hope these guys are in their teens because grown been being this reliant on each other would be embarrassing.
The real “fool of the month” are the people talking about different kinds of hype with Devin Gardner and Kam Chatman. I don’t care about hype I care about performance so just stop. It is all irrelevant!
Devin Gardner may not have been the best QB but you can’t blame all his regression on him alone. RR’s offense was probably made to suit for him. What quarterback under Hoke made any significant strides of getting better. And please don’t say Denard Robinson who never got significantly better either and who was a runner disguised as a quarterback. The Hoke regime could not teach blocking, tackling or catching the football either. All those issue resulted in the down fall of his tenure.
That is why I highly doubt he transfers. Why would he transfer to a D2 school where he needs to pay and doesn’t get a degree nearly as good as UM. We will be stuck with him for at least 2 more years.
Interesting to say the least. Not quite sure I understand bringing in a PG when we have clear other needs but this kid did average 20+ pts a game. I like that.
I kind of like the idea of bringing in another PG for two reasons. 1- It will put less pressure on Xavier to contribute from the start. Good to have insurance if he has rookie struggles. 2- Since these past two season I am crazy scared of injuries. If we lose a guard to injury we won’t need to play a walk on.
