Off Topic: 2019 Michigan Football

I want to feel this optimistic, but the only problem is that Notre Dame is actually good. Pedophile State is living on borrowed time. They aren’t shit really.

Shea can’t read a defense and the improv shit only goes so far. We have no answer against real teams.

The silver lining is that I’m super pumped about our appearance in the Pillow Soft Shit Begone Bowl!

It will only be encouraging if what we saw in the 2nd half carries over into next week and we beat ND. That was a very good 2nd half performance but you can’t dig a 21-0 deficit and expect to overcome it. If we beat a good ND team at home next week then maybe we can say the 2nd half tonight was a sign of real progress. If they lose to ND next week for their 3rd loss, then no one is really going to care that we fought back against PSU.

Bahahahaha! ND is legit.

I’m normally super upset after losses, but not this one surprisingly. For the first time in a long time, we got down big in a game we weren’t supposed to win, and actually fought back and looked like we cared and believed. We didn’t give up at all, and actually started playing better whereas normally on the road against a good team, things just go downhill.

Offense finally looked competent and playcalling was good. Penn state had their best player get wide open two times and that was why they won.

After that, I feel like we can beat ND at home, and that’s a big win that even the media can’t spin as not being a big win. We should totally beat little brother as well. Even though we lost today, we looked as good as we have all season, and the rest of the games should be a lot of fun if we play like this.

Was anyone really expecting to go to the playoff after losing to Wisco in game 3?? We have our 3 biggest rivals still on the schedule, all at home. Lots of fun games and lots of pride still left to play for. GO BLUE

Oh also. Jim Harbaugh said at halftime that the next half would be “our finest hour”. He wasn’t wrong. Best half we played all season

The thing is that the 21-0 deficit was also manufactured by refs giving Penn State AT LEAST a 14 point swing.

We really weren’t that bad in the first half if you take that into consideration. They took away a 50 yard bomb to the red zone on a horrible call, resulting in 7 points for PSU, which is at least a 10 point swing. A missed OPI on their first TD, which is a 4 point swing probably. And then the missed DPI on Black on 4th down, where PSU scored again, which is another 7 point swing probably. You take into account extra possessions and it’s around a 14 point swing for PSU in the first half.

All I’m saying that the narrative that we were atrocious in the first half isn’t even true, and largely manufactured by calls against us. It’s hard to battle back against that and we almost did. No regrets for me as a result, and honestly we weren’t going to win the B1G anyway, so whatever.

The focus is now on beating OSU. That will salvage this season as something memorable

I don’t care about the ref stuff. It’s year 5 of Harbaugh. 15 years of no B10 titles. Don’t care about excuses at this point, they’ve had their opportunities constantly and always fail. At some point it’s not “luck”. Get it done or leave.

This game doesn’t change the last 5 years, no one said it did.

However, if you’re going to use this game as part of the narrative on Harbaugh, which is well deserved, then you’re blatantly looking for reasons to be upset. We played well enough to win THIS game, a big game, something we haven’t done in forever. The result in the end sucked, but the team didn’t, and that’s refreshing.

Only five of those years are Harbaugh, who is CONSTANTLY paying our impotent, impatient fanbase for Hoke and RichRod’s failures. If he leaves, you will regret asking for what you’re asking for, because a big name coach ain’t coming to coach at a place that ran out one of their own because he only put out 10 win seasons instead of 13.

I wanted to “like” your comment but didn’t only because I am hoping our “finest hour” is yet to come! Otherwise, I appreciate and like both of your comments. Go Blue!!! :blue_heart:

We almost won a road game against a decent/good team. Let’s up coach’s pay to $10 million to express our gratitude. $7.5 million isn’t enough for these heights of glory. Let’s get that up to $10 million so that we can really put Dabo Swinney’s $6.2 million in its place. I can’t wait to brag at Clemson fans about our superior coach pay. Small-time suckers.

Why obsess over coach pay? Is it all coming out of your pocket? There’s no salary cap. Not like we can pay the players. There’s zero opportunity cost, because any coach who’s “actually worth” what Harbaugh makes IS. NOT. COMING. HERE. This is our guy and will be until he retires or is sick of being here.

Harbaugh is 1/3rd of those 15 years now. 5 years is a long time. If you told anyone going in that Harbaugh that after 5 years he would have 0 OSU wins, 3-2 against MSU, and 0 B10 titles, no one would have wanted to hire Harbaugh. He’s done a good job beating up on bad teams. It’s just not nearly good enough and his teams are getting worse and worse. The recruiting is falling off after the initial buzz of the hire, and Harbaugh is clearly a disorganized mess. Most morons can sleepwalk into 8-4 at Michigan. You don’t get props for doing it. Ultimately the only Harbaugh season I’d describe as successful in any way is the 2015 season. Been 4 years since. Time to move on and try something else.

2018 class was 22. 2019 was 8 as an up class. Solid class but not phenomenal for Michigan. 2020 class is on pace to be about 17 or 18 with a large number of commits. If Harbaugh wasn’t winning with top 5 classes, I’m skeptical he’s gonna win with a step below that.

Average P5 team is probably about 7.8ish wins. If you can’t be average at Michigan, you’re a buffoon. See Hoke who was openly a buffoon when we hired him.

There are coaches every year worth taking a shot at. Dan Mullen was our Harbaugh backup and he just beat up on Harbaugh last year. If the person we hire is a little bit worse than Harbaugh it doesn’t matter. Being a Michigan fan there’s an enjoyment gap. If you’re not winning B10 titles or beating OSU, no one will ever be happy. Those are the expectations here. So it’s worth trying until you find someone who can
