I had hit the Like button but removed it because I think that goes to Iggy. He had a double double and hit his season scoring average, despite getting mugged at the basket several times without a whistle.

Love this team, I enjoyed the ride all season but damn I wish we had some junk yard dog big men in addition to Teske. Freak athletic bigs that can rip off the rim on dunks and block the ball with intimidating power. TT was impressive with that tonight.

I think Charles could end up being a Ewing Theory candidate, anyway. As good as he was defensively, he was a major major drag on the offense this year. Significantly more than he was the previous year.

A big thank you to all the coaches and players was a hell of a year…30 win season, Beilein getting his 800th win, undefeated in non-conference play, an avenging win against Villanova whooping them as they opened a brand new stadium, making the sweet 16. Games like this are tough for sure but the program continues to strive for great things and I can’t wait for our players to come back hungrier next year!

If the guys enter the draft, i hope for Beilein’s sake, they make an early decision. If Beilein cant tell 2019 recruits how much space we have, it is too hard to recruit. Plus those guys have other options and wont wait.
You keep hearing this stuff from media types…but there are just so many better guards in college basketball, I can’t buy it. Poole’s not the only guy who has ever taken an off the dribble three before.

Feels like Charles was a lot more effective offensively with shooters like Duncan and MAAR around him. I’ll miss his tenacity, leadership and personality on the court. But I think you’re right on the offense’s potential to improve next year

That drive that he had off the Teske pass off the pop last game that Brian highlighted in his article is probably a good example of why he struggled. Those straight line drives simply weren’t there this year without Mo going 5 out.
Can’t get over how wickedly good that scheme is, only a matter of time before every team in cbb is doing it.
I think that anyone who says they thought Michigan would have thirty wins could be exaggerating.

Iggy was a monster all year
I wouldn’t quite say that. I thought he hit the freshman wall in January and was never quite the same player he showed in Nov/Dec.
God, I just feel so bad for Beilein. The guy does everything the right way in basketball and in life. The guy has a serious surgery before the season and never really complained or missed a beat.
Yeah he isn’t perfect. No one is. But he is damn close to it. His players never have any of the pathetic off the court issues that other places to day this still haven’t answered for.
Guy demands kids go to class. Hell, a few years ago after a late game, he talked about how Spike had a morning class/test/paper to get back too. What other coach would even say that?
The NBA seems to love his players and with that he has to deal with the added stress of will they stay or will they go every year until the last damn second.
Please Iggy and Jordan, get back to work with the rest of your pals and win it all next year.

Agreed. And then after non-conference play I think all fans would be underwhelmed knowing this team went 0-3 in three games against MSU that they led at the half where one win would lead to a conference championship of some sort. I guess the concept of overachieved vs underachieved comes down to what you think this team’s true ceiling talent-wise was. I think it’s closer to what we saw in non-conference but the offensive identity was never completely figured out. I can see how others would disagree and say this team never should have won close to 30 games.
