Can’t shoot, can’t win. We knew this was coming at some point.

nope. 0-fer.

The good news is that a NBA GM would have to diagnosably insane to draft Poole.

I’d have jumped at a 2 seed and loss in the sweet 16 before the season started.

Bro, the team wasnt really expected to be top 10 in the country. It lost 3 key players from last year, and most of these guys were in new roles. A lot of people on this blog didnt expect wins at Villanova or against UNC. The squad won 15 B1G games, had a winning road record in conference play. The team as of right now doesnt necessarily have a definitive first round NBA pick. And for a change, as fans we werent worried about this team flirting with the bubble to get to the tournament at anytime this year. Beilein maxed out, my man.

I’ll really miss Charles. But if everyone else comes back and X improves his perimeter shot, the team will make a huge leap next year

I know some people are a little salty that Charles made it so obvious that he was leaving even with a year of eligibility left but I think he really gave his all to this program. Thank you, Charles.

But that’s with the benefit of hindsight. No one was sure if Iggy would be a star, and the team was very young. Don’t completely disagree with you, though; I didn’t think we needed to lose either of the last two games to MSU.

Tonight, OTOH, we were thrombipulated.

So I guess I’m saying I did. I believed this team’s ceiling was higher than national media since the preseason. You can check my post history. I also thought Poole and Iggy would be elite offensive players and Poole especially was far from that. But a week into the season it was obvious this team had more talent than was expected, Iggy was a monster all year, X was way improved, Teske was way better than expected almost from day one. And the November version of Poole elevated this team to an elite level

Last year’s team had its share of scoring droughts, and then we lost Wagner, MAAR and Robinson. I had concerns coming in that we weren’t going to have the firepower to be a national contender. The hot start made me think otherwise for awhile, but around the time we lost to Iowa and PSU, I had the feeling that this was more like a Sweet 16 team. In the end that’s what they were. Impressive that we won 30 games, though.

Not to bash Matthews, but he can come back. The reality is, a NBA career is very unlikely.

Michigan recruited as if CM was leaving. He’s gone.

I expected 5-6 losses and the Final Four. But by two weeks ago I wasn’t going to be surprised at an early exit. Never complain about the S16, but in a sense this is the earlyish exit the team was maybe due for.
