NCAA 2019: Michigan vs. Texas Tech Open Thread

Not really, but he killed any chance of anything opening the half with two free throws nowhere close.

BTW **** the Sparty talk tonight, ok everyone?

He didn’t blame Teske for the loss; just said he was unplayable. I wouldn’t go that far, but Teske did play a poor game

Real weird year. Made the Sweet 16, though. I wonder if Beilein had some either/or decisions about tactics that he regrets. Maybe he felt like the players’ ability to execute more plays was limited. Having the patience to run the offense certainly has been a problem in big games this year.

Absolutely.

how can this crew have such little understanding of the rosters of the teams they’re calling?

If you value preseason polls, it overachieved. I will go to my grave thinking this was the most talented team in the Big Ten. Credit to Texas Tech and MSU in the matchups, but this team was a top 10 team all season long

Deleted. Follow suit.

please let them make a three

We broke 40. That’s good.

IF, and good for them if a Poole or Iggy goes pro, but IF they both come back, I truly do think they win it all next year. It’s Beilein’s time and that team will have all the pieces necessary. Not even trying to stay positive after this, I just do think it’ll be a hell of a year that ends up with Michigan on top.

Eh. I expected this team to be this good. The 19th in the AP Poll was just the national media not paying attention. Everything was basically to my expectation this year except:

  • Charles was worse than expected
  • Jordan was WAY worse than expected
  • Xavier was better than expected

The most disappointing thing tonite isn’t the offense, it’s the fact that what we normally do well we aren’t doing well at all in the 2nd half. Same story every game where we lost…the defense let us down. They lose their composure when they get behind much and hit a scoring drought.

Good for Iggy for showing up hard. I really hope he stays. (And works on passing. Lack of passing ability really hurt in big games this year.)

Even if we lose one of Poole or Iggy, I feel good about our chances next year. There’s going to be a real scrap for minutes. I wonder who transfers.

will a bench mobber make a three?

3 of 5 starters don’t shoot well, we’ve had a serious flaw all season.

Make a fucking three, please.

I think the defensive letdown really only started in earnest after the game got out of hand. The offense – the inability to hit anything at all combined with the turnovers – killed them in this game and it just snowballed.

I really enjoyed watching this team all year and it’s been fun on this forum with you all. One possible silver lining; if Iggy and Poole are torn in their decision, I doubt either will want this to be their last game in a Michigan uniform

So 2018 Michigan Football ends up = 2018-19 Michigan Basketball season. Crazy similarities.
