76-47 final. Defense was the key. Nice to empty the bench.
Looks like Michigan got an early commit from GR area. Why East Grand Rapids’ Macy Brown committed to Michigan over six other Big Ten offers - mlive.com
I perused ESPN Super 60 rankings and she’s not listed anywhere in that rankings, but considering she has multiple P5 offers, I think she’s in the top 100.
Her older sisters are starters at Valpo and NW so there are good family genes for basketball.
West Michigan/GR area have been pumping out girls D1 basketball players recently. There are two MSU commits who are currently seniors - one at Forest Hills Central and one at West Catholic. I believe Iowa has a freshman from Hamilton on their roster. The article you linked mentioned a freshman at Northwestern from EGR (Macy’s sister). Happy to see Michigan finally land a GR player!
I’ve mentioned in this thread how KBH has swung and whiffed on several top 50 players from '21 class. I believe 4 of the 5 top 50 players from Michigan went out of state. It’s good to see that KBH has landed a recruit from the state of Michigan. She will need that pipeline
It seems like, along with the team’s on-court performance, recruiting is trending upwards. The last 2-3 years, they’ve landed a top-50 player (including this year, plus another in the top-100). I would guess at some point in the next few years, a 5-star will opt for Ann Arbor. Having a bigger following in the stands would probably help but those who show are very passionate.
Naz Hillmon has not gotten off to a hot start since the Ohio State game. Against Rutgers and Penn State, Michigan can afford that. But if Michigan wants to win on Sunday against Maryland, she needs to have a hot start to keep the game close
I mean they made 4 or 5 threes in the first quarter, so the TEAM was certainly off to a hot start.
Just turned it on. Is #15 a guard for Maryland?
Naz Hillmon’s first half illustrates perfectly that scoring statistics oftentimes don’t show a player’s real impact on the game. She scored two points on two shots but was brilliant in that half.
Yeah, that was quite a spin move. Fortunately, for us, she missed the shot.
So far, Michigan refuses to be sped up. Really a clinic so far!
But, when they have the advantage they take advantage. Nice put back basket, Naz!
Thumbs up for Maddie Nolan with 7 made 3s and the whole womens team what a game!
Maryland clearly decided to clog the middle and slow Naz and Kiser, daring the Michigan shooters to beat them…and Maddie did.
The girl was ON FIRE! Great win! Such a fun team to watch!
I only watched a little (was already a blow out.) Didn’t realize Maryland was Top 10. Is there a kenpom for women’s hoops?
Her Hoop Stats is the best site out there.
