Michigan Players in the NBA

He was putting it kindly

He has also averaged 20 ppg over his career. If he was devastatingly bad, he wouldn’t get off the bench.

He would if he makes $28 million a year on the worst contract in the NBA.

His true shooting is under 50%, he’s a bad passer, defender, and rebounder and turns it over a bunch.

He’s arguably the worst recent #1 pick outside Anthony Bennett.

Bargnani also in the conversation, but what you’re saying isn’t wrong…

Lol, I DID say “arguably”!

Regardless, people need to look past points. 19 ppg on nearly 17 shots isn’t special, and it’s trending worse the past few years.

In other news, Poole and Robinson are having a rough go of it on what appears to be an utterly hapless Warriors team.

Well than don’t be surprised when people ARGUE, okay?

“Isnt special” and “devastatingly bad” are not the same thing.

That’s unfortunately not true.

He’s nothing special, but because he takes his not special offensive game and leverages that to the tune of 26% USG, he becomes devastatingly bad

Well if his best quality (volume scoring) is mediocre, and all the rest sucks

Then yes, it’s devastatingly bad. Advanced stats had him as the single largest obstacle to winning basketball games last year.

Right most mediocre scorers don’t eat up over a quarter of the possessions over 34+ minutes in 80 games.

Very well. Agree to disagree.

From a full-time MN resident here, Wiggins is going to have to adjust his shot selection with MN’s regime, with a new full-time coach and general manager.

To be fair to Andrew, he did hit four three-pointers to in the fourth quarter of the Wolves game against the Heat last night, that simply turned the game.

To be fair to Duncan Robinson, only one of those four threes came against Duncan’s D; the one Wiggins hit, his last one, was a step-back, fall-away three that you normally would have been happy with most players taking.

I was at the game last night and it looks like Wiggins has “bought in” to shooting more 3’s rather than pull-up 2s. It’s three games into the year, so there is no need to overreact.

On another note, former Illini Kendrick Nunn is the Heat’s best player without Butler. That doesn’t bode well for their playoff hopes. Duncan had a very solid game and the league is starting to learn that he can’t leave him open. He also had a backcut for a dunk when Shabazz Napier was guarding him. He really understands spacing and cutting. He could be in the league a long time if he continues like he has.

Wiggins has been fantastic at getting to the rim this year. When he does that and can hit open jumpers he’s actually an asset for the Wolves. We get in trouble when he tries to create his own jumper off the dribble.

thanks for input…helps to get a clear picture…

Nobody has ever doubted Andrew’s talent. His shot selection has been miserable, and he’s a pretty inattentive defender…also never shown much aptitude for passing.

But at the very least if he can start driving to the basket more instead of pulling up halfway, he could certainly work his way into a serviceable player.

But hey…at least Poole was +10 on 2-13 FG (1-7 3PT) vs Clippers and +4 on 1-9 FG (1-5 3PT) vs Thunder

How is that even possible???

Especially since they lost both by about 1.2 billion
