Duncan and Poole both off the bench on the same college team is ridiculous in hindsight
Jordan is playing at a ridiculous level the past 2 months.
Poole was lauded as the best shooter in his class coming off high school, and he backs it up five years later.
Heās really as close to Steph Curry in terms of playing style as you can get and heās on the Warriors. Having Steph, Klay, Poole, Wiggins and Draymond is unfair. How do you guard them on defense? This might be the better version of lineup of death
People on Reddit are calling it the PTSD lineup (Poole, Thompson, Steph, Draymond)
Never in a million years did I think I would see JP turn down Steph calling for a transition 3 to take his own transition 3. Wild timeline weāre living in right now
GSW Lineup of Steph, Klay, Poole, Wiggins and Draymond:
- 11 min
- +29

- 75.0 DRTG

Insane
Credit where itās due but somewhere in that year Dan Dakich called Poole the best NBA prospect in the B10. Iām sure there will be a Losing McQuaid moment at some point this spring too, mind you, but man heās just so much fun. Will always LOL at how he deked out his own teammates after the shot to beat Houston so he could continue being chased around the court. So ready for the celebratory moment.
Well Poole is obviously not playing because of his defense, but if he plays offense like he did this year in general (and obviously the last 2+ months is a whole different level) it doesnāt really matter how weak his defense is (Iām not saying itās bad, but its certainly not a plus).
The Warriors have cycled through a series of death-star lineups:
Death: Curry/Klay/Barnes/Iggy/Draymond
Hamptons: Curry/Klay/Durant/Iggy/Draymond
weāll go with PTSD for now: Curry/Poole/Klay/Wiggins/Draymond
The current iteration is probably the worst defensively by a decent mark (Poole is a worse defender than anyone on the first two, Klay is pretty diminished at the moment defensively, Wiggins worse than Iggy was) but Poole is playing so well offensively (not as well as Durant, but whatever) that the upgrade from Iggy to Wiggins on that side may draw it even.
He played better defense than Jokic at least.
Yeah. As I said in the playoff thread, I think this is about the worst imaginable matchup for Jokic both ways, and for this iteration of the Nuggets (who basically donāt have a starting caliber guard on the roster) generally. Ideally, youād want a 6ā5" offensively capable guard who can punish the Warriors for often going with the lightweight Curry/Poole combo back there. The one of those the Nuggets have hasnāt played a game this year.
Watching Jokic last night was like watching Hunter this past year. Dudeās getting pulled out to the perimeter by Steph Curry and then has to chase him all the way to the rim. Jokic is actually one of my 2 favorite players to watch play but these past 2 games have really exposed either his defense or the Denver scheme and Iām now pretty convinced Giannis or Embiid are probably more impactful players. Itās just a sad sight because Green is eating his lunch.
Even if theyāre dealing w some bad matchups, thereās just a bunch of shots that arenāt going in for them bc their injuries are putting much worse players on the floor. Theyāre prob 4 points per 100 poss worse than they would be otherwise? and the spread was GS -7.5 w Warriors at home.
Been so impressed by JPās passing and creativity. Itās incredible to watch him right now. The game has clearly slowed down for him and heās playing with the confidence of someone who is in complete control of everything that is happening on the floor.
Cāmon, join the party.
Bones Hyland on defense! Good to see him in the league too.
Yeah I had no idea who Bones was tilā I randomly saw him freeze someone with a slick behind the back dribble, leaving them like they were stuck in a puddle of mud. Then I started randomly checking in. Dude can ball. In a recent 76ers-Nuggets game, won by Nuggets announcers were saying the Joker should be the MVP cause he outplayed Embiid. Truth was, he had a (-8) that game, and was pretty much on the bench for the entire Denver comeback, which was almost singlehandedly engineered by Hyland. Was amazing to watch.
Iāll take playing on Monday night over a Big ten title any day
I was so excited for him to maybe come to Michigan a few years ago
