This guy better come up with a counter. A lot of big off-season talk. Sheesh. It’s not that I don’t believe in him but, man oh man, he is not leaving himself any outs. People are keeping these receipts for a certainty. Just salivating to cash them in, I would imagine.
maybe I shouldn’t be but I am shocked at how many Illinois fans just hang around waiting for HD to tweet. They were the first replies, literally within seconds
I’m equally as surprised by the amount of Michigan fans who get concerned whenever HD says things like this. As if it matters more to lose a game after talking trash.
The game got cancelled…what game does Hunter face losing?
Once you have already submitted the Application for Michigan Rivalry Status, you want to make your case in public as best you can.
Hunter really is the best. A heel who is known for smart trash talk and burying people on the court, rather than overly-physical play or flopping. Doesnt take himself too seriously, but speaks his mind. Glad we got a second year
Can you imagine if Twitter was around in 1991-92?
Do say, more less
Yep – hard not to be in on Hunter Dickinson heading into this year. Reminds me a bit of Nik Stauskas’s path where he was always confident bordering on cocky but could really reach a new level as a sophomore.
Like I said, I’m not doubting him. The trash talk doesn’t bother me at all. But, social media will be a no fly zone for him if they lose. I’m commenting on what he’s putting on the line for himself. I love it but he’s laying it on pretty thick.
I’m guessing actually reading social media is pretty much a no fly zone for any Big Ten basketball player during the season. And the stuff from their own “fans” is probably more unreadable than the silly stuff from Illinois fans or whoever.
The best thing HD walks the walk. Go Blue!
The range of responses is fascinating.
Obviously not in this scenario. But there are plenty of times people genuinely seem worried that trash talk will lose a game, or that somehow it makes things worse.
I wonder if people would be so upset if Mike Hart had just like, not been picked to answer questions on one specific day. Or if every fanbase is this worried about what quotes will or will not be written on a whiteboard at some point.
Not a bad point. Probably a pretty good policy. I don’t have social media so I’m not up to date on best practice. Especially for people who have any amount of followers.
If anyone wants a good laugh and has a 247 membership there’s a thread on peegs(IU) about uk backing out and how “laughably weak ums non conference” schedule is.
Wait…IU message boards are talking trash about our schedule? I realize that their new coach is off to a good start, but maybe pump the brakes on trash talk until you’ve figured out if you are relevant as a program again.
