Jaylen Brown - Will Likely Use OV for UM

His family doesn’t want him to go to Kentucky if that means anything to him…

Rumor has it that the academic scandal at UNC was a factor in Ingram going to Duke. You listening Jaylen?? :p

I have to agree with Matt on this one that Ingram not going to UK probably hurts Michigan the most out of any recent news.

I don’t know, I’m definitely not convinced about this way of thinking, because it could also be said that top level players want to play together and make a huge splash by combining their talent.

Weird that there is absolutely no info on Diallo yet

Looks like UM may have conducted an in home with Brown.

A few days ago, Sam Webb said that Jaylen Brown was conducting in homes (and one with Michigan) around the time that people were saying he was shut down completely.

If Kansas can’t get in home with him, that can’t be good for them…

247 shows that Self had an in-home visit at the end of last month, and the article also said Kansas was out of days for visits.

Side note, Michigan is now the favorite according to Crystal Ball picks.

I have to assume Jerry Meyer’s crystal ball means more than average.

160 for 214 which is very good but still…

Who is our stiffest competition for Jaylen? Has to be UK and KU right?

UNC has its NCAA problems and Cal just doesn’t seem logical compared to the other 3. Cuonzo Martin as his head coach to get to the NBA?

Depending on who you ask, his top two is Michigan and Cal or Michigan and Kentucky. Then again, who knows.

I would add on Meyer he also has Williams to Michigan. Obviously he can’t be right on both but there’s one I would prefer him to be right on.

The hype train is rolling full steam ahead right now, and I can’t help but feel like this recruitment has a much different feeling to it than some of our top misses recently.

Read that a number of the 247 guys who picked brown to UM will remove Williams to UM because they know there’s only one spot, time will tell.

If Kentucky misses on Brown and Diallo they will have 3 players returning from the platoons and 3 top recruits. They also have returning 3 star recruits. Where do they plan on getting players from? Could be very interesting.

UK has a JUCO transfer - Mulder.

I do not think it is official yet but will happen. I still think it will be interesting.

Kentucky definitely has a SF need which worries me with Brown.

I don’t think Mulder has committed to UK yet, but he probably will. He’s a really good player – lights out shooter and athletic finisher (somewhat similar to Murray but less of a ball handler). I sorta wish U-M had recruited him more actively since he’s a Windsor kid and an automatic shooter (although I gather the school isn’t big on JUCOs). Kentucky may also pick up Murray, assuming he reclassifies, who will be an instant impact player. Not a bad haul at all. They may need another big.

Ok, so I just joined this site last week so I wasn’t on board for the last big recruit we got: Mitch McGary. I just have to ask the people that were following that recruitment a question. Compared to Jaylen Brown, how confident were we in the weeks leading up to his announcement that we’d get him?

McGary’s recruitment was similar. Nobody gave UM a chance because he was a blue chip prospect. A month or two before committing, there were a few positive vibes coming from UM insiders. About a week or two prior to his commitment, I recall Webb stating that UM was the favorite so there was a great deal of excitement up until the announcement.

Jaylen’s recruitment is kind of similar in that Webb again likes UM’s chances although I don’t think he’s nearly as confident at this point. Prior to McGary’s commitment, Webb already had a gut feeling it was UM. So far, Webb’s only gut feeling is that UM is in the top 2 so not quite as confident.

Rupp’s Rafters is pretty much conceding Brown to Michigan. I’m still gonna wait to see first.
