Hey now, the guy that made the pick for brown to UM on 247 made the correct picks on Swanigan and Malik Newman. That has to mean something right?

And Zimmerman some time ago to UNLV⦠siiigh.

Shoot. Probably means heās due to be wrong.
But Iām a pessimist just trying not to get my hopes up.

You and me both. Just isnāt working so well for me.
So if Jaylen Brown still has not decided by May 8, do we offer the spot to Williams on his visit and just take the first person to commit? I know this has probably been discussed already so please bear with me. I havenāt really spent much time on this thread lately.
Also, Iām with Dingo and bacon. Not optimistic, but holding out a sliver of hope!
Williams hasnāt set a visit yet (at least what he told me last night). Whatās the significance of May 8th? Other than Tyus Battle is expected to visit?
I must be way behind - I thought Williams was visiting then. Guess thatās Battleās day, not his. Whoops.
Based on past offers and commitments (and I havenāt read any discussion on this either) itās whoever commits first. Although it would be logical in some cases to tell remaining recruits that they are plan C if plans A & B donāt work out, that puts us on the hook waiting and every impression Iāve gotten of Belein is that heās all about the commitment as opposed to waiting.
Brown holds the scholarship offer already and Williams does not to the best of my knowledge. He hasnāt visited campus yet correct (not sure if he did back when we initially recruited him.).
I believe Brownās previous statements put his commitment somewhere in the very near future, feel like he said a month away towards the end of March. So with him on commitment watch perhaps we are holding Williams visit off until we know if Brown is taking the last spot or not.
It seems rather likely (IMO) that Jaylen will make a decision before Williams will actually make a visit.
Jaylen has reported multiple times that he would make a decision by the end of April. It also seemed pretty clear that he was waiting for other top recruits to make their pick. Ingram is making his choice later this evening. That only leaves Diallo and Brown. Obviously, nothing that Jaylen says should be set in stone, but when he is the last top level recruit without a decision, I donāt see really the point for him to keep waiting (āgiven that he has also all the NBA draft information).
There is obviously a chance that Williams visits before the end of the week, hence before Brown is likely to make a decision. But I still think the odds are that we will hear from Brown before Williams visits.
Is it coincidence that brown has waited this long and Michigan just received word about being able to offer 1 more scholarship. Hopefully not. I hope thatās exactly what he was waiting for.

Iād only call it a coincidence if Jaylen actually announces that heāll be making his decision soon.
Whereās Matt D?
One down, 6 to go

Wow, I honestly was thinking UCLA was a likely top 3 type of school for Brown. I take this as pretty good news then.

Iām not sure if/how much it helps UM, other than competing with one less school. Surely, it would have been better if he dropped UK, KU or Cal, but hey, we take whatever we can get at this point.
I canāt find any clear reasons yet why he dropped UCLA. Not sure if he will say why.
Brown Crystal Ball is switching a bit. As before, take with a heap of salt.

Good news for Michigan if it is true. A lot of the crystal balls seemed to like UCLA presumably based on the āAdidas schoolā + āBlue bloodā + āSouthern Californiaā calculus. That said, I didnāt think it would be UCLA because Bryce Alford will dominate the ball as long as his dad is in charge (much to the chagrin of UCLAās few die-hard fans).
When Kansas drops off the list I will feel much better.
Holy ⦠on those crystal balls. Hard. To. Stay. Pessimistic.
Itās been UCLA and Kansas that Iāve been most worried about. The one thing I hang my hat on is that his ātop twoā seems to include one constant team and one team that changes depending on the day/source, and the one constant is Michigan. I wonder how āinformedā those crystal balls are.
Holy .... on those crystal balls. Hard. To. Stay. Pessimistic.
Itās so frustrating. Iām trying to tell myself that these guys donāt have any new information from Jaylenās camp because they arenāt talking to anyone, and that this is predominantly from people who had previously thought UCLA and read other boards/sites.
