Jaylen Brown - Will Likely Use OV for UM

Man…it’s just so nice to have positive momentum with Caris coming back and the possibility of adding Brown. It’s been a real pleasure reading the board the last 2 days. Would love to somehow get lucky on this one and turn the tables on the bluebloods!

Well damn..........

Well, what else could he really say if he is keeping everything close to the vest like he is trying to.
It seems that he is really waiting to be the last top 10 player to sign, so that he is not missing any information on what each team looks like. Very smart, but very frustrating.

Would you expect someone who has kept his recruitment so close to the vest to suddenly admit to a smaller top group? Does not mean that we are or aren’t in his top group, just that I would not expect to hear much of anything else from the horse’s mouth until his decision. Also agree with Dylan that Biancardi’s report was just hearing it “could” be UM or Cal.

I am hoping Brown decides before Williams. If Brown decides elsewhere Williams could still come to Ann Arbor if he chooses to do so. If Williams decides on coming to Ann Arbor (if thats what he chooses) then Brown is immediately out of the mix.

I just find it interesting how giddy this board has gotten in the last two days. We’re already discussing how Brown will be used in our lineup. That’s fun, but we’re definitely putting the cart before the horse! I’m with you, Matt, I sure hope we can get lucky on this one! Wow! OK, now I’m getting giddy! Note to self, calm down.

That’s because getting Brown moves us from top 30 team to possibly top 10. He would help us tremendously as a rebounder from the 4 spot

Some of you guys are setting yourself up for disappointment. Not saying we won’t get Brown (I personally believe we won’t), but the odds are still stacked against us.

Can’t hurt to think optimistically

No it doesn’t John, but some people are already thinking about which dorm Jaylen is going to be staying in at UM.

Probably South or West quad

With elite recruiting, we’ve been burned too many times to be confident. Hopefully we will luck out and snatch one in Brown. Personally, I think I got a bit too excited (as opposed to confident) at the thought of adding Brown and what we could be as a team next year with a talent on that level.

It is hard not to do that due to how good he is and how much better he can make this team if he does decide to come here.

IMO on a Brown thread, we should be talking on how he would fit our team next year, how he would be used, rather than just rehashing: it’s a long shot, we will probably not get him. It might be true, but this forum is about exploring many different avenues and possibilities

Evan Daniels update on Brown. Says Brown may be waiting on others to pick school (I.E. Newman, Ingram) and that decision isn’t far off. If he’s waiting on those two, you have to assume Kentucky is where he is leaning. Ingram is considered a Duke lock, which would be bad for us, and Newman is said to headed to MSU (again, bad for us).

Also reiterates the one constant in this recruitment: Nobody really has a clue.

Then the question is, is he waiting to see where they go so he could go somewhere else or so he could join them.

I don’t know it could go both ways. If Newman and Ingram would go to UK, maybe Jaylen would want to join them there and be a dominant team.
Some people were saying that Rabb going to Cal was bad for us because it might attract Brown.

You could interpret the situation both ways.

I understand the desire to keep expectations low (I’ve tried unsuccessfully at that wrt Brown repeatedly), but I think it may be a step to far to assume it’s definitely Kentucky. The one thing I’m confident in saying like everyone else has said is this recruitment feels very weird for a 5-star. Nobody really has any clue. That still could end up with him going to Kentucky because why not. Just hope we get closure on it sooner or later. Also agree I’d rather have Brown’s decision pre-empt Williams’.

I will also point out that the article says one source says he “could” be waiting. That’s as definite a statement as Biancardi’s source “close to the family” saying it “could” be UM or Cal. So bizarre and frustrating to kind of set any of my expectations.

if zimmerman, newman and ingram all going elsewhere (diallo/maker maybe too?)

wouldn’t this hurt kentucky’s chances?

watch this dude pick georgia

I keep checking back here hoping for actual news on the Jaylen Brown front…

… still nothing.
