Jaylen Brown - Will Likely Use OV for UM

When is Browns deadline to chose?

When is Browns deadline to chose?

Doesn’t really have a deadline, but he had talked about deciding sometime in late April.

When is signing day?

Late signing period started April 15th and ends May 20th, there’s not really a requirement to sign an LOI though. Many prospects are opting not to.

I never said JH promised anyone, anything.

Uhhh…that’s exactly what you did. Unintentionally, though, apparently.

I was asked whether I think JH promises anything, to which I responded yes. Not once did I allege JH actually promised anything.

I don’t follow. Of course you don’t know what JH is actually doing, so how is what you think he is doing different from what you allege he is actually doing?

Think = opinion. Allege = accuse based on some form of info/fact

Yeah, the distinction in this context doesn’t make sense, but whatever.

Get Jaylen Brown.

hearing chatter that we have more flexibility on scholarship than people know
Obvious ideas are:
Hatch (Medical)
Donnal/Someone (Transfer)

But is the Levert to Honors Society = Academic Scholarship a real option?

No. There’s no scholarship associated with Order of Angell (it’s not really an ‘honors society’) and athletes can’t move onto academic scholarship.

Hey Matt, if he goes overseas, I don't want you to list him as an example of a recruit Beilein couldn't close. Deal? :)

That getting moved to academic scholarship is epically bad info. I hope a mod at a paysite didn’t charge people 9.99 for that.

nah, just heard there is more than just the hatch option, the levert thing was from mgoblog

I would be quite surprised if Donnal left. Remember, if that were to happen, the team would be one Ricky Doyle injury from having freshmen again at center. I also happen to think it’s far too early to give up on Mark, and I bet the staff feels the same. And as he took a RS, he’d be sitting two out of three years and then have only two years left – he’d be foregoing a year of eligibility. Just doesn’t make sense from any perspective.

And didn’t Beilein say he wasn’t expecting any attrition?

Seems like the Hatch to medical is the most likely, although I think in the past we’ve heard that was unlikely.

To me the second bit impacts how much salt I take the first comment with.

JB recently said he’d be “blindsided” by any attrition. I couldn’t quickly track down anything JB has said about Hatch to see if it was as definitive. But the first statement is also supported by the logic that preceded it – Donnal leaving doesn’t make sense from either side. We’ve had pretty definitive word from Chatman, who would’ve been the other likely candidate.

I’m not advocating putting Hatch on medical, but I just think it’d be more likely, especially as it’s been a while I think since we’ve hearing anything on the subject. I guess we’ll see how it plays out.

That’s fine reasoning, I just will personally withhold expectations that there will be zero attrition for a bit. Not trying to monger that I know of any attrition (I don’t), just don’t want to expect stuff while there is fluidity in the scholarship situation (even if it’s only Hatch).

Probably wise.

With LeVert now returning I think this sets the table for Brown’s decision. For the most part he now knows exactly what will be around him team wise for the schools he is considering.

I seem to remember him making comments to the effect of does he want to go somewhere to be “the man” and develop or does he want to go somewhere he is just another guy full of names for the lack of better wording. I’ll call it the Michigan or Kentucky decision (not saying it is down to those two but from a overall perception.)

I think LeVerts return could help where he knows he will have help on the court but not get lost in the shuffle or have to about minutes.

Thoughts?
