Iffff we were to look for a coach who would be realistic targets?

Because Howard and Yaklich’s defensive philosophies aren’t the same? And Howard is probably going to want to do his own?

Howard is playing David Fizdale’s very aggressive, trapping defense.

Yeah I’m very curious who, if anyone, Juwan (theoretically) would keep on staff. All have their pros, but given Juwan’s preference to coach bigs and defense, would he retain two assistants with that as their specialty because they’re high-level recruiters?

Yes, makes sense. But Yak was given an extraordinary amount of freedom by Beilein. We can’t expect Howard to run things that way. I think it may be more likely that Yak wants to move on than Juwan doesn’t want to keep him. That could be Juwan’s first sales job.

With all the Juwan momentum, is this the one scenario where Warde could (hypothetically) land on Donovan and a large percentage of the fan base would bitch about the decision :joy:

The latter, though to be fair Jordan isnt a home run either imo

Didn’t Franz say he wants to go wherever is going to prep him for the NBA more? An ex-NBA coach would seem to intrigue him then potentially

Well here’s hoping he would see if that way if this is indeed how it all goes down. It would also be crazy if Iggy saw another year as his way to play himself into the first. But for now it’s all wishful thinking.

And, at this point, it’s probably useful to remember some of the crazy predictions about Harbaugh’s first recruiting class. I recall the tweet about how ``if M gets Harbaugh there are multiple committed five stars ready to decommit and come to Ann Arbor’’, etc. That never happened. Even some of the top recruits still considering Michigan went elsewhere – Roquan Smith is the one I recall there.

Does the lack of proclamation from TMI, Freep, News, MLive, The Athletic, have anyone second-guessing whether Juwan is the guaranteed selection?

Yup, I’m on the same boat. The longer this drags the more worried I am.

He literally interviewed today…

Yes that’s understandable.

But with the reports (probably fake) that also came out today, you would expect the insiders to have a take on it especially considering the magnitude of the event.

They’ve been quiet for awhile now, which might indicate that we were led on, which sucks. Basically the longer that they aren’t confirming it, the more we know that we were getting excited for no reason due to erroneous reporting. Is that wrong?

I don’t think today’s reports are fake, just premature.

Reasonable take.

But like vanarbor, I’m surprised with the name recognition of Juwan, the Fab5, the Heat players Juwan coaches, that there haven’t been more leaks dripping out the past 4-5hours.

It was said by the end of the week. Today is Tuesday and Juwan just interviewed. Not to mention everyone on this site was panicking around this time yesterday that the Cooley deal was done as well. I’m figuring there’ll be an announcement Thursday or Friday, that’s my guess.

Nobody is refuting it either that I have seen. The fake news about Cooley last night was refuted by several people.

Still has to interview Lavall.

The tweets from Quincy Simpson looked very real.

He would have a good source, rather than running with a sketchy one. It was obvious that he deleted it because it was premature.

Yep, the only question there is whether he was acting on actual, inside information, or whether he was basing it on the same echo chamber of reports we’ve all seen. Doing the latter could certainly be a reason to delete the tweet.
