I absolutely agree.
On top of that, seeing that Shaka might be the frontrunner, I would search up some of his teamsā game tape on offense on defense.
Thereās a couple of videos on youtube where his offense looks inept, but also a couple where the sets he runs look really good.
So I guess the Wolves appear to be in no hurry. Becky Hammons is mentioned here. Just for the sake of discussion, what would that look like at the collegiate level? I would imagine that building recruiting relationships would be the hardest part. In the NBA, a gender-barrier-breaking coach could still just be mostly about the Xs and Os.
As a Texas fan it seems like they go 10 minutes running great sets then go 5 minutes and you have no idea what they are doing on offense.
JUWANNAVARREISMYHERO has a nice ring to it.
If it is Juwan vs Shaka, I can have a good night sleep tonight. If Juwan is hired, I will be in tears when he is introduced. If Shaka is hired, I will give him benefit of the doubt and hope that he can find his 2nd gear in his coaching career.
Agreed on Oats, I donāt think he is squeaky queen, he will fit in good at Alabama.
Juwan vs. Shaka isnāt that bad at all.
Is this a legit thing between Howard and Shaka or is this just a guess and speculation. Im assuming just speculation because Michigan will not say anything until an actual hire announcement.
If either one could swing Jaden McDaniels, count me in
I would prefer Juwan over Shaka but I think both would be pretty good. I would much rather hire one of them than promote Yak or another assistant. Recruiting is so important and pretty much every national championship team has had at least one 5 star prospect. I am just not sold on Yak or someone else being able to pull in truly big time recruits. Even Beilein struggled with that to some extent. Shaka has proven he can recruit big time players and in my mind that is more than half the battle right there because it seems like talent eventually wins out. I think Juwan would be able to recruit very well too for lots of reasons but to me he is more enticing than Smart. Like I said, both would be fine.
Hilarious video of Shaka. But letās not get too ahead of ourselves. If I were to bet I think someone elseās names comes up in the next few days.
Juwan>Yak>Shaka.
I donāt like the Shaka idea at all. Even some of his biggest fans in the M community, such as Ant Wright, acknowledge that heād need a lot of help from assistants. The recruiting is seductive though, especially given there may be a bodies shortage if Wilson is truly out and maybe others.
Many Michigan fans wanted to see Beilein go around the 4 year point too.
Smart got a tough break with a key injury (illness, really. My brother had leukemia and I feel for that kid). Amaker had some teams cursed with injury problems. Beileinās teams struggled without Levert (and Walton that one year).
If Simpson twists an ankle, he hop on one leg for the rest of the season.
Donovan, Marshall, Stevens are all off the board. Moser seems to have been fake rumors. Howard and Shaka are the ones confirmed to be candidates. Cooley seems to be below them.
With Beileinās injury years it was multiple long-term ones. LeVert and Spike; Irvin and Walton. One injury? That was McGary and the Elite 8 year.
can you link what you read that said they are confirmed candidates?
I hope that weāre not hearing about it but that they are trying Mark Few. Sell the guy on being topped out where heās at and on being able to recruit at a much higher level at Michigan.
Would he like the idea of having to play teams with a pulse after Dec. 15th every year?
No idea. All I know is that when media says a guy has the perfect situation in some place, or that itās completely natural for coaches to move from contending in college to a shit NBA roster because they are competitive and up for a challege (without noting that it puts them within a 3-hour drive of grandkids in either direction), that thatās all guesswork. Once upon a time when RichRod was a hot commodity he turned down Alabama and nobody thought Michigan could get him. We donāt know whatās going through these guysā minds. Apparently nobody but BQ and Manuel had a proper read on Beilein. So forget about the guesswork, stop farting around and throw money at these guys just like any other school would.
