I’ve heard this a few times and I just don’t get it. Why wouldn’t he be in the transfer portal already?
Also I still can’t believe there are eli haters out there. He’s had too many big games offensively and almost always on d for this to be a thing. Can’t we all just agree he can play? He has some ugly moments but he’s clearly a net positive by a wide margin, no?
I think he has the purest stroke on the team. Perhaps that would’ve been a better way to say it.
Does it make a difference eligibility wise? If not I don’t see why it would make a difference when he entered the portal. If it was a mutual parting of ways I think the offseason would look better for both parties.
Juwan’s going to unleash Cole on unsuspecting NCAA tournament foes. Playing the long game.
Maybe not. But he can start looking at other schools and figuring out where he wants to go (and where has room for him) if he isn’t focused on Michigan basketball.
I said this before but I’ll reiterate that I’m kind of sad some of these guys could be gone. I really like this group and think almost everyone can play and will have nice careers.
Not sure how it will shake out but there’s definitely three to four I’d be kind of angry about leaving.
Yeah that’s a fair point. I’m not saying I want him to transfer or anything, it just feels like it may already have been decided behind the scenes to me.
Why does Teske twist his body in mid air so his shoulders are no longer square to the hoop? Why doesn’t he use the glass?
These are things I wondered as I watched.
I agree completely. I don’t want him to transfer and think something is up because he isn’t even complaining or anything. I just don’t believe that he has his eyes elsewhere because he still seems locked in here.
If that was the case, why would Cole waste a year of eligiblity on a program he’s not going to be a part of for just a minute here or there once every few weeks. That doesn’t jive with me.
I don’t know but going to him in the post hasn’t looked like a winning play lately. Lately when we feed him I’m extremely nervous. I think it’s getting to him mentally at this point. He’s even missing his mid range face ups now. Use to be a nice look for him.
I so dig Juwan’s interviews.
A lot of it has to be mental at this point. His post ups were decent offense earlier in the year. So much so that I think he still has a higher PPP on post ups than Davis. But now he’s letting that affect all shots at the rim.
I mean Beilein tried his hardest to not play Eli for the past two years (giving Simmons his minutes two years ago and trying to give his minutes to DDJ last year (who failed to take them) and he’s still here. Johns and Castleton were both used then stapled to the bench. Davis his whole career until now.
Plenty of guys hang in after falling out of (or never getting into) favor. I don’t see why we assume Cole is going.
What else could he do about it? Even if he were to decide to transfer mid season he’d still lose that eligibility wouldn’t he?
Wow, dumb reporter question and juwan smoked it.
I mean, if you look at his body, he’s not giving himself a chance, even on bunnies, he’s turning from contact before it comes. Davis doesn’t - the difference is pretty sharp.
what’s not to like about Juwan Howard? he seems so comfortable talking to the media now. I like how he mentioned all 4 bigs working hard to include Faulds.
Beilein never had 6-7 freshman coming in the next year and a shortage of scholarships. Regardless of who else we sign theres going to be some kind of attrition next year. Going off the idea that Nunez really values the degree and is sticking around regardless it just makes sense to me that Cole might be one of the guys going out. I’m not saying I want it to happen, just my theory.
