Not great, but we can come back from this. Worst half I’ve seen since the first part of this year. Not worried about it though. Juwan has been great at hyping up the team and making adjustments at halftime. Frustrating half, but we are going to win this by double digits.
Awful? OK got it
Well, the ball screen offense was Mike Smith forcing shots. And then the offense was Austin Davis post ups. I thought Illinois did a good job bottling it up when Smith was on the floor.
You beat Michigan by forcing Smith to try to score.
Worst half of the year, poor play, poor decisions, zero energy. I don’t see this one getting better we are one more Dickinson foul away from Davis being the go to option on offense. Illinois really wants it bad and Michigan isn’t responding. Extremely disappointing but Michigan is very susceptible to quicker guards and their guards are having their way. In the future need more quickness in the backcourt.
Not one of the games where we’re just not making shots. Either an energy/effort issue or we’re just not quick enough of a team.
cut it to 3, with the ball, and that call on Franz changed the game.
I can’t believe we’re flinching like this. We have been scared of the moment from the tip tonight and that is so not like us.
Illini challenging every pass and every bounce of the ball. Mich has to find a way to work through the physical nature in which this game is being called and played.
Getting out hustled. Dumb fouls. But, Refs allowed a bunch on pushing and grabbing under the basket. Biggest complaint I have is the ball seems to be sticking too much - very little ball movement.
Who knows how much this stuff matters but Underwood certainly had his team believing Michigan sucked them. They are motivated
I loathe the auto bench.
Something tells me Juwan didn’t clap on his way into the locker room this time. That said…that was the worst half of the year and only down 11.
For a guy that averages 3.5 fouls per 40 minutes was it worth sitting Dickinson the rest of the half?
Thought there would be doom and gloom in the thread after that half. I’m confident we can turn it around too, but how do we do that? No one has looked good initiating the offense.
Getting nothing from Livers and Franz. That’s got to change.
I need to see the #7 rated KPOY play like it in the 2nd half
its like @umhoops has always said livers feasts on true 4 men but struggles against mobile ones, we are seeing that
Wagner and Livers is the only way back in this game, they’ve got to step it up.
How have we not gotten a Livers postup vs Adam Miller or Damonte Williams
I don’t see why that would be the case but I agree, that’s what it’s seemed like. They are doing things they don’t normally do and everything seems forced. Hopefully Howard gets them to calm down and make some adjustments because we all know UM is much better than this
