This is what happens when your coach is a 19-year NBA vet. No wonder guys seem to love playing for him.
I would go to war for this man
I feel like this has racist undertones
I am ok with them saying that. Itâs real stupid but winning more games will just get them more triggered if thatâs even humanly possible. Martelli seems super engaged on the bench always jumping up and down and yelling things outâŚ
Are CBS games available for full viewing afterward like ESPN and FOX network games? I want to watch that second half again.
Yup, they havenât the slightest of clues about X&Os.
Feels likely, which is why I vote we start an opposing narrative in which Fife is the real brains of the operation in East Lansing, and Izzo is just a ceremonial leader who is there to do press conferences and dress up for Halloween.
I mean, if thatâs the case, then hats off to Coach Howard for the hire. (But I donât think thatâs the case).
Umm, who hired Martelli? Even if it were true, itâs still a moronic take.
Also this is true. Hiring great assistants feels like a pretty big part of a head coachâs job to me
Love it. Great call coach.
Also underscores what Smith is doing for us this year. Coach finally calls a play for him, he takes it to the hoop for an and-1. If we need him, to Smith could go get some more buckets. But we need him to set everyone else up so thatâs what he does.
Yeah I highly doubt thatâs the case.
From what I recall, Martelli helped Juwan with the a lot of the operational difficulties of transitioning from the NBA to college, but the offense is very much Howardâs. Martelliâs offense at St. Joeâs wasnât that similar.
Thatâs not to say Martelli doesnât have immense value, itâs just that anyone who thinks this isnât Howardâs team/offense is misinformed, perhaps due to racial differences?
Iâm sure Izzo wouldnât hesitate to give up the credit for this season.
I donât know if it is racist or not. It certainly better not be! Juwan is a helluva coach! He LOVES coaching this team and these guys! Martelli WAS a great hire, but Juwan is the one who hired him. Iâm sure Phil has been a trusted adviser as Juwan has learned the ins and outs of the college ranks after spending two and a half DECADES as a PRO, but Juwan is a HELLUVA coach! AND, heâs a WINNER!!!
The Matthew Loves Ball rewatch of this one tonight is going to be fun.
Lost in this was probably the most aggressive Livers has been in a game at Michigan. This is the type of leadership and aggressiveness Michigan needs from him moving forward.
just catching up, probably not the first to comment this but I canât remember the last time a coach got owned this badly by another. Juwan has utterly humiliated Gregory Gard this year
It might also be wishful thinking - they want to believe the older guy who might not be here too long is the secret to our success. Grasping at straws.
Yeah there is no doubt that this isnât Matellis offense. We run a bunch of NBA sets, but Iâm sure the college lifer is responsible for it. They just wonât give Howard the credit.
Now THIS is fun
