Franz Wagner to announce decision sooner or later

He also loved doner kebabs, though.

is it reasonable to expect him to be a one-done? two and done?

Heā€™s very young (turns 18 in August) so it is tough to define those expectations. The way Iā€™d look at it is that heā€™s on the radar if/when he arrives. That means if he plays well, his decision at the end of the year will only get harder. His youth probably means he doesnā€™t have to rush, though (unlike Iggy, for example).

lol, I remember him bringing it up in an interview and found it hilarious. IMO Doner kebabs > Chipotle. One of you Ann Arbor folks should open up a joint and we can keep this German pipeline going

have anyone know any Euro style donne kebab place in US? i have not seen one around NYC although food trucks selling the version of very salty ground lamb gyro are everywhere

We have a food truck here in Houston that sells the real deal, called Beeezzz Doner and Kebab. It is literally the only place Iā€™ve found that does the ole Turkish Doner wraps. Sooooo good! With the popularity of Schwarma and Gyro Iā€™m shocked we donā€™t have more here in the states. But alasā€¦ it remains elusive. We need to find some though as a welcome gift to Franz when he comes

There must be in most major cities. DC and Baltimore have Berlin-style fast-casual places. Pretty sure I also saw one yesterday in the burbs between the two cities. They arenā€™t that good though. That stuff, in Berlin, is so damn good.

Try Ottoman Taverna in Chinatown/Mount Vernon if youā€™re in the area.

Realistically will there be an announcement from him in the next 24 Hours? Doesnā€™t Michigan start practicing soon?

If you donā€™t take the SAT then you have no decision to make - you canā€™t play in college. So you actually do need to take it if youā€™re undecided.

A non-zero chance he makes his announcement on campus? I can see him doing that.

I was alluding to the fact that I would make my decision before I take the SAT. I wouldnā€™t take that test unless I decided Iā€™m going to Michigan, and if I pass/grades hold up, Iā€™m going to college. I would have my mind made up ahead of it because thatā€™s a whole lot of work/prep if I decide not to go to college.

I understand timing and needing to take it when deciding later. I just personally couldnā€™t fathom being undecided enough to have to take it. I assume he had to prep some given English is a second language.

I donā€™t know the timing of the test, so maybe he had to take it before he could talk to Juwan and the new coaches. If that was the case, I obviously agree it was something he definitely had to do to keep the door open.

Iā€™m just saying I feel like it shows heā€™s leaning toward Michigan by taking the test. If youā€™re undecided enough to take the test, seems like youā€™re leaning one way over the other.

Yeah, I get that taking the SAT probably sucks but if he is undecided on the last date that he can take the test then he needs to still take the test to keep his options open.

Dylan do you think we will find out by Friday?

Yes, there is rule you must take the SAT/ACT before taking an official visit. Hence, I know he skipped a practice to take and it had to be taken before his official. Otherwise his trip to town can only count as an unofficial.

Ah if thatā€™s the case then obviously makes sense. I had the thought he took it recently after the visit, presumably after Howard was hired. If he took it prior to the visit, he obviously had to do it (plus he was expecting Beilein as the coach).

Iā€™m not positive but I think that rule might have been changed when the official visit rules were updated.

Iā€™m under the impression he has taken the SAT(maybe when he previously visited) with his paperwork already into admissions. Maybe he will just show up. Seems like something like this may have happened with brother Moritz. At least we all know ahead of time his last name is pronounced Vagner as if it was spelled with a " V" instead of a ā€œWā€.

Bear in mind Franz doesnā€™t need to ace his SAT. The minimum score he needs is quite low. Based on Moeā€™s experience, he may know there will be no problem at all in passing. Worst case scenario is he plays at Alba. I wouldnā€™t assume he feels the stress about taking the test that you might.
