That was so frustrating, the entire prem is just going to bunker and counter again. I’d rather just go through it with Khusanov and Reis this year, about had it with Ake and Akanji.

Handled the press better in the 2nd, but really shouldn’t be that far back on your heels vs Guatemala. Agyemang needed to bury those chances and put that away, but not the worst thing to get some parked bus training under pressure.
I think Luna and Tillman have cracked the A team rotation and Freese has possibly overtaken Turner, especially if he sits on the bench all year again.

De La Torre and and Adams really struggled - I’m starting to wonder if Adams is playable in the Cup

I don’t know what Musah has done to be included here. He was abysmal last season for club and country both.
I’m not going to bother to defend it too hard because I don’t really have that hard a preference. I guess I’ll just say I think that getting 1500 minutes on a good Serie A team is a pretty different standard than 1800 minutes on the best Eridiversie side, so I just have quality of competition questions about Tillman (that he may answer!)
I was more concerned about leaving out Adams
I mean talk about looking terrible. I think he’s been straight up bad in the Gold Cup
For club he was very good this year
If the World Cup started next week, this would be my preferred 11.
Weah super sub on the right and could slide Luna inside or bring on Aaronson and Weah for Luna/Tillman. Lets Wes get foward a bit, but we need him more centralized to cover for Jedi when he’s ahead. I’d play Dest back further and mostly attack on the left until you bring Weah on and then flip it. Musah for Wes or Adams as needed and Gio or Sargent can take any spot up top.
I guess you bring Zimm or McKenzie in the back, Scally or Tolkin I suppose, but our fullbacks are dreadfully thin.

Looks right to me. Jedi is the only defender I trust, could really use an out-of-nowhere candidate with sudden good form. And would really prefer Musah find his form to replace Adams; at his best, he provides way more playmaking than Tyler.
Aluna vs Weah? Could you amplify? Weah seems like a default and while he hasn’t been awesome, he plays at a much much higher level.
Just riding the hot hand really. In the 24/25 season, Luna has 11G/4A in his 21 starts meanwhile Weah has 5G/3AST in his 32 starts, both for club and country. I get the vast gulf in skill difference in between Serie A and MLS, but the USMNT struggles at putting shots on net and Luna has been excelling at that. I’d rather have Weah’s pace be a real problem for teams in the 65th+ minute.
Not sure how comfortable Luna would be on the right though and Pulisic isn’t moving so that’s a bit of an issue.

Yeah, I was thinking that so looked at some match history and just from the data there (which doesn’t really break it down too much) he has played on the right a bit and had some success while doing so. At least in data form, 3 goals in 3 appearances where he was slotted on both wings at some point in the match so I was like why not give it a shot.
