Dream 2020 Class? --- Fab Five 2.0 to kick things off?

I forgot to add Mark Williams to the centers I listed. Though I’d prefer Garcia, I also should have added /Lance Ware. I really want Scooby though. I think he’s a high-IQ 4-year glue guy.

I’ve seen him quite a few times in person to say I’m all for landing him. And if anyone watched him on ESPNU yesterday I’d be surprised if people don’t want him.

Maybe this shouldn’t be surprising considering Juwan played as a big but seems like there is many more targets at the 4/5 compared to wings and guards. Hoping to see some new targets emerge at those positions.

Or he’s looking to play with a more “traditional 4” and doesn’t see much depth at the 4/5 slots? If the staff looks at the 20-21 depth chart at 1-3 slots and likes what it sees from DeJulius, Bajema, Brooks, Nunez, Wagner, Jackson…easier to hone in on a couple specific recruits to try to supplement that crew. With “bigs” the staff is a good year from Livers away from him going pro and leaving them with Castelton & Johns, no other depth.

Discussed some of that in today’s story.

Time to update:
Jackson
Howard (this seems inevitable, unless he wants major playing time)
Dickinson/Williams
Todd/Brakefield
Burnett/Moody/Springer/Christopher

Two of the last group if Jace surprises and goes elsewhere. The only offer I’m leaving out is Suggs. I absolutely love his game, but since he’s considered a silent commit to Gonzaga, why bother?

I’m not as sold that Howard is a ‘fait accompli’ because he hasnt actually committed yet. I bet if his dad pushed, he could get it though. Maybe that is just rationalization for my list:

Jackson
Dickinson
Todd
Burnett
Moody

I think we have a reasonable shot with all of them and even seem to be trending up in some of them :crossed_fingers:

Yep, that would basically be my list if Howard chooses to go elsewhere.

We don’t really know anything about their relationship, do we? I could see as many reasons why a kid would need space as go with his dad, healthy either way. . .

They have enough space for 2 in the last group even if Jace came to Michigan. Doesn’t mean they’d get two but it isn’t a limiting factor. They have scholarships galore

Zeb Jackson
Nimari Burnett
Moses Moody
Isaiah Todd
Mark Williams

Dream class
Long, lanky, athletic class with shooting and backcourt versatility. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Sounds like Breakfield may not visit, but even if he does, he’s most likely headed to L’Ville. I want Todd.

Sounds like Brakefield may not visit?

They may indeed, but unless they strike out on both bigs or both combo forwards (entirely possible), that’s contingent on attrition of at least one from the current roster via NBA or transfer, right? Which is also quite possible.

I’d be stunned if they had zero attrition. Even Beilein would overrecruit by one scholarship and he’s as conservative as they come.

I’d be surprised too. I’m just going with five for this class for now, but six would hardly come as a shock.

There’s no need for Jace to commit before taking his OV. If he follows it up by taking other OVs, then I’ll believe he’s not going to be part of the class. I see he has one scheduled for Cleveland State.

Comes from a 247 L’Ville site. Idk if it’s credible or not.

I think he’s going to drop for L’Ville soon.

My dream class and the one that I think would wreck in today’s college basketball

Pg-jackson
Sg-Burnett
Wing-moody
Wing-Christopher
C-Todd

Don’t think Michigan can sell Todd on playing C. As Dylan says, anyone under 6’6 thinks they’re a PG, anyone over thinks they’re a SF. Todd, even at 6’10, sees himself more as a wing than a post, and Michigan is recruiting him as a 4. Class is probably more realistic if you remove Christopher, put Todd at F and add Dickinson.

Exactly you likely couldn’t convince Todd as a 5 or Christopher or as a pseudo 4. I just think that type of lineup is best type of lineup in today’s college basketball.
