Walton is the only reason I watch the PAC 12
I can stand Walton for about five seconds. Dave Pasch is the most patient man in the world.
Hey, you guys remember when Duke lost twice this week?
Brutal collapse for Stanford on the road at USC. Five point lead with :15 left, rebound a miss by USC, immediately turn it over, give up a layup, turn it over again, foul a 3-point shooter who makes the bucket (but misses the FT). Go to overtime and eventually lose by four.
Walton is the worst
Some of these egomaniacs are interesting in short bursts, but they are mostly more interested in themselves than the games. Walton, like Vitale, and–in the end, Dakich–wears out his welcome pretty quickly with me.
Bill Walton is the best thing about college basketball. I wish we could be in the Pac 12 just to hear him more often.
You must be in a time warp and mean back in the 70’s when Walton was with UCLA. Because Walton is Atrocious this day and age.
If you’re interested in in-depth, on-point analysis, then Walton is not your guy. If you’re interested in being entertained and your sense of humour meshes with Walton’s crew’s sense of humour, then he is awesome.
Yeah, I feel like if you understand what’s going on already he just makes watching a game so much more fun. Not for everyone and you definitely need that same sense of humor, but if you can take things a little less seriously it’s a great time.
He’s by far the most divisive. Either you hate him or love him. I find him to be hilarious but if he was calling a game I cared about such as Michigan I might not love it as much.
I honestly just tune out the announcers most games I listen to. Most of them I just find annoying, and they don’t add much to the game for me. There’s a few guys I really like on the call but I can’t stand the BTN crews. Walton I like because he’s going on all these hilarious tangents and it just makes the game much more fun. I guess I might get tired of it if he was doing Michigan games all the time but there’s no way to really know since he never does them.
That’s where I’m at. I can either listen to incompetent guys like Bardo talk about Davis’ great stint after he gives up his 3rd straight open layup or you can get the same amount of good analysis without the blatantly wrong crap plus with a grown man eating a lit candle.
Team Walton all the way! I remember watching a late night Pac 12 game last year and he said something along the lines of:
“That was one of the top five worst offensive possessions in the history of Oregon basketball.”
West Virginia has put up 79 on Texas with 8:40 still left in the game. They lead the Horns by 41.
Looks like Yak may be looking for another job this offseason.
Man, Virginia is so bad on offense this season.
NC State’s 2nd leading scorer and rebounder had fouled out and they had 6 scholarship players available. Instead of going for overtime on their home court, Virginia, down 2, launches a desperate 3 at the buzzer.
Kyle Guy’s surprising decision to leave early really did a number on that team. Entering tonight’s game, Casey Morsell was shooting 14.5% from 3 for the season.
At the beginning of last year they probably didn’t think Guy or Jerome were close to leaving early.
