Shudder. God that was nerve-wracking.
Best part is he parlayed that into an extension and a raise. They are joined at the hip for quite a while now.
To go from that terrifying moment of Cooley being a legit option to being where we are with Juwan could not feel better.
I will always remember Brian snow stating that big east coaches viewed Cooley as a very good x and o coach.
With a team that on paper should be good…
All hail the flex offense
That was laughable at the time and is even more laughable now
San Diego State beat Creighton by 31 last night and are up to 9 (!?) on Torvik. Anyone watch that game, really curious about what makes them so impressive.
Last year wasn’t there a thread specifically for our non conference opponent results separated from general discussion?
Anyways, San Diego State beat Creighton by 31 last night.
Pulling for Oregon I think in this third-placed game. Wins over Seton Hall and UNC while losing by just one in OT to Gonzaga should really boost them and could get them into the top ten by the time Michigan plays them.
Watching the game now. For some reason Oregon isn’t really running offense through Peyton Pritchard. Other guys are forcing the action and either missing or turning it over. When Pritchard makes the decisions, they get much better looks. I expect the Ducks to correct this and play much better against us in a couple weeks.
Oregon is legit. These tip off times have been so wacky. Why is the winners bracket games going first in some of them? Very odd.
Couldn’t agree more. They’ve been doing a good deal through him, sure, but I can’t help but think that everything needs to go through him. They are a good overall team though – refuse to be buried and Richardson is shooting incredibly well lately. Dana Altman is one of the best coaches in the nation to me, maybe most underrated?
Yeah I think they’d do well with MSU’s high ball screens and rescreens for Winston. Clawing their way back though!
UNC with a nice four-point win. Led most of the way through and Bacot looked absolutely dominant underneath.
Random observation, but why is ESPN running the exact same tape as yesterday in the post-game with Dakich and Greenberg? Aren’t they staffed enough to actually run live post game coverage?
I believe rankings shouldn’t come out until January. That said, has any team ever gone from not ranked to Top 10? Wouldn’t be surprised if Michigan is #7 or higher come Monday.
If the first rankings came out next week, who would deserve to be ranked above Michigan, if the rankings were only based on performance, and not on preconceived preseason notions?
Agreed. Best resume early.
I was thinking they have to jump into the top 5. Two top ten beat downs and a nice win versus Iowa st.
Only thing I’m worried about is they peaked early last year. They were the best team in the country through the first 12 or so games. Hopefully not the case this year. I’d say they could avoid this because the young guys should only get better, so ceiling is theoretically higher. Which is scary for the rest of the country.
Having that high ranking puts a target on your back externally and can inflate the ego internally. I’d rather we stay unranked until March
Can’t wait for the Louisville game! If Wagner, Johns, Nunez can make the leap, then we are damn scary
