Another overhyped squad. Not sure they are a top five squad let alone one, I think they’d barely a top ten team this year. I got them finishing third in the acc at best. I think Louisville and Unc are one two in no particular order in that conference.

Duke was lucky to beat Kansas. Had Kansas made even half their point blank lay ins, they win by ten even with the 24 turnovers or whatever it was.

Teams I think would beat duke heads up by year end,

Unc
Ville
Kansas
Ohio st
Michigan st
Oregon
Gonzaga ( on the fence here)
Washington ( when they get it together that squad will be tough)
Kentucky
Florida

There’s a few other squads who I think could hang. It’s a very interesting year. I heard jay bilas ( not the biggest fan) talking earlier and they asked him if their was any truly great teams in college hoops and he stated no just lots of good teams and I agree. He brought up a good point on how it will be like 2010 or 2011 when the field was wide open and the finals were duke over butler then a hot uconn team led by Kemba over butler.

The final 4 I’m 2011,was 4 seed Kentucky vs 3 seed uconn and butler as an 8 seed vs 11 seed Vcu. I remember it was one of the only years that none of my brackets were alive after the sweet 16.

I could see a very similar outcome this year. Looking around the landscape there is probably 20-25 teams I could see making a legit final 4 run this year after watching early.

Those nine I listed above then

Texas tech (how are they this good? I thought they were being completely overrated but their trouncing Teams. Now that coach b is in the pros I can honestly say that beard is the best coach in college right now with Bennett right there.

Baylor, Arizona, Michigan, Purdue, seton hall, Xavier, nova, auburn, Memphis ( I guess but I’m not buying it, I’ll give their talent a pass though), Dayton ( yes I’m serious , I think they beat Kansas tomorrow if Kansas doesn’t bring their a Game), Maryland ( dont trust them but they are ranked 5th) and Virginia (don’t trust them but respect Bennett as a Coach so much and they are ranked 7.

I could see any of those teams winning it or in the final 4. Or maybe a really hot /good mid major.

The ending of that butler game was brutal.-3 and Stanford hits a 3 down four. Butler somehow ensues to get a 5 second count. If they get the ball in and the foul Game ensues I still have a great shot if they hit their free threes and get one miss. Instead Stanford gets the ball and goes up one on a back door uncontested lay up. I was just covering ten seconds ago now their losing??!!?? Wtf. Baldwin comes down and winds the clock down to 6 seconds and nails a two. Stanford inbounds ( did niether team have time outs?) and races down and missed a shot , scramble for loose ball ensues , no clean rebound to get fouled and give me a chance at a push.

Amazing Game but if you were on butlers side, the missed cover makes you sick.

Side note Jordan has a great squad. I personally think they look like a top 25 teAm. Baldwin , tucker, McDermott, golden, Thompson, nze, David and battle is a nice rotation. Might be tough when they play big physical athletic squads but they have nice guard play and good face up shooters. Wins over Missouri , Stanford, spanked wofford, and Minnesota.

I just looked and after today they go to Oxford to play a ole miss squad that probably makes the tourney, then home versus Florida who’s improving and has final four ceiling , then at Baylor who is very very good. Then two games later at Purdue. Then they go into a big east gauntlet. That conference is DEEP this year. That’s a hell of a non conf. Schedule just to go into the toughest big east year since all the break ups/ mergers.

Wow, what a year. March is wide freakin open! It’ll be even more exciting when Michigan pulls the unexpected 3-0 this weekend and I again book hotel in Atlanta for the Final Four!

You never know it could happen. Looking around the country I don’t see too many teams with our upside.

Franz and the 2018 kids are the key, if they play to their potential Michigan will be in the mix.

I have a feeling things are going to be just fine long-term what Howard, and there’s the sentimental value of having him here, but for right now I’m looking at the lack of excellence at the top and really missing Beilein, and thinking of what this team could have been with him and continuity and Jalen Wilson.

Butt and leaking made me laugh

Speaking of which, is there any evidence that the “Beilein ball” (with the black stripe down the middle) works as a shooting aide? Do we still use it?

I have not seen any stats that show the black stripe works as a shooting aid, but I think I saw it mentioned that Beilein used the stripe on practice balls with the Cavaliers. That is some evidence that the stripe is a benefit. I will defer to others on the forum to comment whether Michigan continues to use the striped balls in practice. I just don’t know.

Go Flyer’s…they can ball!

Ibi Watson looks awesome… Happy for the kid, wish Michigan still had him lol

Toppin is a dude. I have been very impressed with Dayton

I wonder where his place in the lineup would be. It would’ve been interesting to see if he would’ve started in place of Eli this year.

It would be a good problem to have…a strong upper class wins championships.

I have one, can’t confirm or deny improvement on shooting, but the grip is super nice.

Virginia has three games scoring under 50 points already this year. Just gross basketball.

Dayton falls in OT to Kansas by six in the Maui final. They looked fantastic all tournament, though, and are sure-fire bets to be ranked in the next poll.

Also Gonzaga is currently rolling over Southern Miss. on ESPNU if anyone else is watching these next two games in preparation for a Friday game.

Epic collapse by Seton Hall. They were up by 19 in the second half.

Providence loses to Long Beach State. Fans calling for Cooley’s head lol. what a dodged bullet. I hope Warde didn’t actually consider him
