Agreed - I know it means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I still was able to rattle off several teams ahead of us who I don’t quite get the argument, other than preseason uncertainty about Juwan. Maybe voters just being cautious and/or lazy in shifting too much in their lower ranking tiers?
As a fan, there’s just something comforting about seeing that little number next to your school.
Ready for a hot take. I’ve watched Virginia for three halves now. I’m confident when Franz is back and when Michigan settles in as a team (young guys getting comfortable and getting more minutes under their belt ect) that Michigan could take these guys.
If a team is going to beat UVA they’re going to need to shoot really well from three and can’t be carried by just one player’s strong performance. Their defense is so good that it doesn’t matter that their offense isn’t anything special at all. You could tell by the shots Vermont players were taking they were constantly scared of taking anything from two, and this wasn’t that great of a two-point defensive night for them.
If you told me I could pay the #1 player in the country and he’d come to my school, but he would be suspended 12 games and be available for most of conference play and the NCAA tourney, I would do that all day. #itpaystocheat
from the article: “The suspension was tacked on to a six-game one imposed when the NCAA ruled that Crawford’s high school living arrangement had violated amateurism rules.”
A number of coaches have told ESPN.com that they question how the NCAA could rule players ineligible for extra benefits prior to college when the majority of elite players receive some sort of special treatment.
Watching Gtown/Texas. I honestly have moments where I’ve really liked Dakich, but man, I don’t recall him being more of a distraction from the game than tonight. Oh, and yes, I’m okay with Juwan versus Shaka. Not an all-encompassing dig, but there’s no reason Texas loses to G-town.
