I have found that the Dakich the basketball coach/analyst from 3-4 years ago has taken a backseat to Dakich the character. He still brings out some good stuff occasionally but now it seems to take a backseat to the character he is trying to play.
Funny how ESPN brings that out in people. Almost like they’re being told to act like that.
It’s a shame if they are, because they’re losing the educated fan.
It started a long time ago. They still give Stephen A Smith a huge platform, which should tell you everything you need to know.
Texas gave up 82 points, 1.28pp.
But Yaklich?
I think he is that character, but toned it down for awhile. His was the first account I unfollowed on Twitter and that was about five years ago.
Agreed, the guy is known to vanity search his name on Twitter.
Good article about how colleges use their preferred brands of basketballs to gain a competitive advantage. Michigan is featured in the article for John Beilein’s use of “The Rock” brand of basketballs.
ESPN could care less about knowledgeable fans. They want volume. It’s part of the reason we shoot t-shirts into the crowd at games.
Thanks for the post!

I think I just saw Bill Walton taking another toke on the hookah, murmuring “Conference of CHAMPIONS, man…”
That makes sense to me. He got less obnoxious for a while and sometimes came up with the kind of observations that make it clear that he’s watching our games more than typical analysts do and picked up extra insights thanks to that. But that period roughly coincides with his kid being here, so he had reason to be watching our team really closely that he doesn’t anymore. Just my guess at it.
I think Arizona and Colorado are good. I have minimal respect for anyone else in that conference
Washington and Oregon are solid too
True. Good catch
I think Lunardi’s latest bracketology has four in. Sounds about right by early returns.
We’ll have a good idea about Oregon by mid-December.
Arizona being good on the court should not stop you from having minimal respect for their program.
Touché. Lol agree
