College Basketball Open Discussion

Not sure if it was posted yet, but we had (i think) the first postseason forfeit due to covid today

Holy Cross had to forfeit due to COVID

Georgetown is awful I feel bad for Patrick Ewing, always had a soft spot for GTown.

No one wants to take a 1 seed from the B1G. Bama down 14 to Georgia

At this point are there any non-Big Ten teams in contention for the last 1 seed? I figured FSU and Bama were the only other two possibilities and I think today should end that talk if Bama winds up losing to Georgia and FSU lost to a bad Notre Dame team.

WVU could probably get there with a run in the Big 12 tourney

FSU probably lost their chance when they lost to UNC. Nova has had an outside chance but loses too often. WVU and Bama are the only options now

Bama’s got it down to 6 already so they will probably win

One team I don’t know if I would want to see in our bracket on selection Sunday is OK State.

I could see our guards struggling in that game but I don’t think they could stop HD and Davis. Would be interesting to see who we had guard Cunningham. They are a chaotic team, so as long as we played smart, I think we’d be ok.

That 2017 game still stresses me out to think about. I couldn’t watch live and had to get score updates at work. Crazy game!

I’d be fine facing Ok State. Especially in the S16. They’re young and we match up well to defend Cade. And Dickinson would destroy them

Super ugly half between UGA and Bama. Bama’s down 6, shooting 36% from the field, 16.7% from 3, 0-2 from the FT line with 11 TO’s. I said this in a thread earlier this week but Bama’s offense has been solved, unless they get super lucky from 3 I think they’re a prime pick for a R32 exit, S16 at the most.

Also keeping on the theme of non B1G 1 seeds struggling, Nova is down 12 in the first half at Providence, and WVU is only up 5 at the half on OK St. who doesn’t have Cade or Likekele.

Justin Moore, Villanova’s 3rd highest usage player, just left the game with a badly turned ankle. We’ll see if he comes back but with Gillespie out Nova was already terribly thin at the guard spot and was giving minutes to Bryan Antoine today, who has been injured but also played less than 5% of minutes this year. Now with Moore out Chris Arcidiacono, who plays less than 3% of minutes is playing.

Nova’s currently down 18 at the under 4 in the first half, with 15 points in 16 minutes. If Moore is out long term Nova is an easy first weekend exit pick.

Is the younger Arcadiacano a walk on?

No, he’s a scholarship guy. He had 0 recruiting buzz though and seems like a guy who only got the offer because of his brother. He didn’t play at all last year and hasn’t this year. Probably Nova’s equivalent of Jace right now, could be useful as a long term program depth type guy, but no real expectations now or even long term.

Cade Cunningham isn’t a good matchup for Eli. I can see Franz getting the assignment because Cade is 6’7"-6’8" which is ridiculously tall for a PG.

Ok State really running plays to get a 24% three point shooter some looks lol.

Every big 12 game goes down to the wire

This game is just chaotic and awful.
